The ongoing tour is a total contrast to what happened in the 2017 series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Then, the Island nation were given a tough fight by the visitors and all the series were shared 1-1. This time around though, Sri Lanka have swept aside the horror year that 2017 was and won the Tri-Nation series and also emerged victorious in the subsequent two-match Test series. Now they would be looking forward to clinch the T20I series as well to make it a memorable tour.

Bangladesh still continue to be marred by injuries. They are already without their captain Shakib Al Hasan - and Mahmudullah has been appointed as the stand-in skipper - while they are also sweating over the fitness of Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim. Mohammad Mithun has been added to the squad as the back up batsman.

Sri Lanka, on the other side, have lost the services of Kusal Perera and Asela Gunaratne due to injuries, which means Kusal Mendis will feature in the playing XI.
