'Takes a lot of patience': When Hardik Pandya spoke about his relationship with Natasa Stankovic

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya recently announced his separation from his wife Natasa Stankovic, a topic that has been doing the rounds on social media. Hardik and Natasa had an intimate wedding ceremony in Udaipur in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic. The couple had released a wedding video back then where they spoke about their love story, where Hardik said that it took a lot of patience to live with the Serbian model.

“The way she gave me warmth, I started getting more solutions because she taught me how to find solutions. That learning in my love life taught me to achieve more and more in life. I also became more patient because it takes a lot of patience to live with Natasa,” Pandya had said in the video.

Natasa had also spoken on how she met her former husband. “I went out with a few of my friends. There was a friend of mine who apparently was also HP’s (Hardik Pandya’s) friend. Then he walks in a hat, some kind of a shawl and blingy-blingy everywhere. In so many years in India, I had not seen such a person, such a persona.

“I was like, ‘What is this?’ ‘Who is this?.. You know when you’re meeting someone for the first time, I was going for the hand and he came for a hug. Don’t know the name, nothing, he was just very friendly, that’s how we met for the first time,” she had said.

In 2023, Hardik and Natasa renewed their vows during a grand ceremony in Udaipur. The former couple have a three year-old son named Agastya.

Rumours of divorce between Hardik and Natasa began when Natasa had deleted all of her wedding photos from her Instagram handle earlier this year. On Thursday, the couple released a statement confirming their separation.

“After four years of being together, Natasa and I have decided to mutually part ways. We tried out best and gave it our all, and we believe this is in the best interest for the both of us,” read the post on Pandya’s account which had the comments section disabled and gathered nearly half a million likes in just 15 minutes.

“This was a tough decision for us to make, given the joy, mutual respect and companionship we enjoyed together and as we grew a family,” read the statement.

Natasa has reportedly returned to her home country, Serbia, along with her son. On her Instagram page, the 32 year-old recently shared a video where she could be seen spending time with her son.

Hardik scored 144 runs and took 11 wickets in the 2024 T20 World Cup that concluded on 29 June. India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final in Barbados to clinch their second T20 World Cup title, and their first ICC trophy in 11 years.
