Another victory should put them in pole position for a third appearance in the IPL playoffs in four seasons.

GT, on the other hand, currently find themselves at the bottom of the 10-team table — a steep decline for a side that had reached consecutive finals and had won the title on debut in 2022. A defeat on Friday will ensure they join MI and Punjab Kings in bowing out of the playoffs race.
