Gautam Gambhir, who is widely tipped to become India’s next head coach, reportedly bid goodbye to his IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday. Gambhir was in Kolkata on Friday, as per reports, to shoot a farewell video for the franchise and the fans.
The video will highlight Gamhir’s journey with KKR, reported Times Now. Further, speaking to the media house, an official from the Cricket Association of Bengal confirmed Gambhir’s visit to the Eden Gardens for the video shoot.
“It was a low-key affair, but Gambhir wanted to bid goodbye to his fans with a message and that is why they shot a video at the Eden,” the official said.
Gambhir has had a successful partnership with KKR in IPL, winning the league as a captain with the franchise in 2012 and 2014. He returned to the team as a mentor ahead of the 2024 season and inspired them to their third IPL trophy, bringing an end to the 10-year title drought.
