Former BCCI president N Srinivsan attacks cricket board's administration and CoA, says 'everything is in disarray'

Former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president N Srinivasan has criticised Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) for the way they are managing the cricket board. Srinivasan, in a interview with Times of India , said ’everything is in complete disarray’ in Indian cricket. “Everything is in complete disarray. There is nobody to take decisions, rules are being changed in domestic cricket to suit personal needs, there are no committees in place. From what had been a strong administrative policy that the BCCI had put in place, it’s all being destroyed slowly. My question is, how bad were the previous regimes? Administrators in the past have helped BCCI reach where it has and look at how cricket has become a source of livelihood for scores of people in India,” Srinivasan said. PTI[/caption] The CoA which comprises of Vinod Rai and Diana Edulji have come under intense criticism lately for their infighting and poor handling of crucial subject matters including that of the Mitahli Raj-Ramesh Powar row, appointment of women’s team head coach and the Hardik Pandya-KL Rahul sexism controversy. Srinivasan also ruled out the suggestion that he is in any way responsible for the current mess in the cricket board. “While I was in BCCI, I just did my job and if people appreciate it now, I’m happy. I did the same when I went to ICC. For the first time, I got India its due recognition in the committee of nations. Unfortunately, things have been frittered away by subsequent events and people. But you can’t take away anything from India permanently because you have to recognise that India is literally sustaining international cricket. India is bankrolling world cricket. So, I’m not worried because, it may take time, but we will eventually get our due,” Srinivasan said. The cricket administrator also added that Chennai Super Kings’ 2018 Indian Premier League win was a result of “simmering anger” among the players due to the two-year suspension of the side. CSK were suspended for two years for their involvement in the 2013 spot-fixing and betting scandal but bounced back impressively last season with the title triumph.
