The latest video of a young Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry says a lot about her passion for cricket. Perry is currently one of the best cricketers in the world who, like a lot of her Aussie compatriots, is competing in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 season. Representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), she played a phenomenal game against the Mumbai Indians recently to seal a spot in the T20 franchise tournament’s final. Now a clip of the all-rounder has emerged on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) where she can be seen making the headlines for partaking in a men’s cricket game in her country. The clip was uploaded by a fan who wrote, “A home recording of a young Ellyse Perry playing in a men’s team for a Sydney competition.”
Perry’s passion for the sport knows no bounds and it was noticeable in RCB’s heart-breaking loss against Delhi Capitals on March 10 by a single run. After the match, Perry appeared to be emotional as RCB’s chances of making the playoff stage looked slim. The Aussie all-rounder came back stronger, spearheading her team in the next game to seal a spot in the Eliminator. In RCB’s playoff game against Mumbai Indians, Perry produced a 66-run knock to ensure her side’s qualification to the tournament’s final. She also took a wicket in her four-over spell in the knockout match. She is currently leading the top scorer chart of the WPL 2024 with 312 runs.
Perry has made the headlines quite many times in the ongoing WPL 2024 campaign. She took the internet by storm in a high-octane game between RCB and the UP Warriorz on March 4.. She had finished the match with a solid knock of 37-ball 58, leaving the spectators in awe. Perry will be gracing the cricket pitch one more time in the WPL 2024 final. Chasing a total of 136, Mumbai Indians fell short by five runs in the Eliminator. Perry was adjudged Player of the Match for her sublime all-round prowess.
