The BCCI has picked star-studded squads for the first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25. The Duleep Trophy, which marks the beginning of red-ball cricket in the domestic season, will see some of the finest players from the international circuit and some of the young and emerging talent compete at the highest level.
The BCCI has picked several centrally-contracted players for the Duleep Trophy 2024-25 including KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan and Kuldeep Yadav, apart from Shreyas Iyer, and Ishan Kishan.
Contrary to the media reports, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not part of the Duleep Trophy.
The Duleep Trophy 2024-25 will begin on 5 September 2024, in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, and M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
The four squads for the first round of Duleep Trophy 2024-25 are as below:
India A: Shubman Gill (C), Mayank Agarwal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KL Rahul, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Tanush Kotian, Kuldeep Yadav, Akash Deep, Prasidh Krishna, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, Vidwath Kaverappa, Kumar Kushagra, Shaswat Rawat.
India B: Abhimanyu Easwaran (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (WK), Musheer Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy*, Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, Yash Dayal, Mukesh Kumar, Rahul Chahar, R Sai Kishore, Mohit Awasthi, N Jagadeesan (WK).

The BCCI also said that cricketers who will be selected to represent India for the home Test series against Bangladesh will be replaced in the Duleep Trophy, while Nitish Kumar Reddy’s participation in the tournament is subject to fitness.
Duleep Trophy: Format
The Duleep Trophy 2024-25 will be played in a round-robin league-based format this season without any knockout matches. The team at the top of the points table at the end will win the tournament.
