Hosting the Champions Trophy 2025 will be difficult for Pakistan, but the subcontinent nation is determined to put its best forward. Reportedly, Pakistan will be deploying at least 17,000 security personnel during the Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi.
The Champions Trophy 2025 s tarts on 19 February with a match between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi. Besides India, all seven remaining teams will be playing their matches in Pakistan. Team India will be stationed in Dubai as the International Cricket Council (ICC) has agreed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) demand to allow them to play at a neutral venue.
PCB wants to prove BCCI wrong with seamless tournament
The BCCI wanted the Champions Trophy 2025 to be hosted in a hybrid model due to the security threat to the Indian team in Pakistan.
Since the 2009 attack on the Sri Lanka national cricket team in Pakistan, very few international teams have been travelling to Pakistan and while England and New Zealand recently toured the country, the Men in Blue have not travelled to their neighbours for cricket since 2006.
The Champions Trophy 2025, however, is the first time Pakistan are hosting an ICC event since 1996 which they co-hosted with India and Sri Lanka and the Pakistan government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a seamless tournament.
Security will not be limited to police officials; special commandos and paramilitary Rangers will also be on active duty. During the tournament, snipers will be in position and aerial monitoring will ensure fool-proof security for teams.

According to the data, 7,600 police and security personnel, including special commandos, will be deployed in Lahore, while 4,500 officers, among them 411 from the Special Branch, will oversee operations in Rawalpindi.
