Yorkshire pacer Ben Cliff dismissed Somerset’s Ned Leonard in one of the most bizarre fashions during the final of the 2nd XI Twenty20 Final in Wormsley on Tuesday.
The incident happened during the 19th over of Somerset’s innings. Ned Leonard was on strike and faced a full length ball off Ben Cliff in the second ball of the over. Leonard looked to play a straight drive but ended up hitting the batter at the non-striker’s end before deflecting towards the hands of the bowler. Leonard was dismissed for a two-ball duck.

Cliff ended the match with figures of 3/30 from four overs as Somerset finished their innings at 19, with Joshua Thomas top-scoring with 52. In reply, however, Yorkshire were dismissed for 125, with Ned Leonard picking four wickets to finish with figures of 4/25. Skipper William Luxton was the top-scorer for Yorkshire with 34 runs.
