Amid reports that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) doesn’t want Pakistan’s name printed on the Indian cricket team’s jerseys for the Champions Trophy 2025 , the International Cricket Council (ICC) has clarified that the name of the hosts would be present on the team uniforms.
An ICC official said that all teams are mandated by tournament regulations to sport the tournament’s official logo on their jerseys. The logo will also have the name of the host nation.

Pakistan are the official hosts of the Champions Trophy 2025, however, India's matches will be played in Dubai , UAE, under a hybrid model arrangement.
“It is the responsibility of every team to add the tournament logo to their jerseys. All teams are obligated to comply with this rule,” an ICC source was quoted as saying by Pakistan’s A Sports.
The report further stated that any team failing to follow ICC protocols will have to face “strict” action.
The news of the BCCI allegedly refusing to display Pakistan's name on India’s jerseys went viral after a report by IANS cited a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) source making the claim. The alleged PCB source was discussing reports that India captain Rohit Sharma would not attend the opening ceremony of the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan. During the conversation, the source also alleged that the BCCI opposes featuring Pakistan’s name on the jerseys and called for ICC intervention on the matter.
“BCCI is bringing politics into cricket, which is not at all good for the game. They refused to travel to Pakistan. They don’t want to send their captain (to Pakistan) for the opening ceremony, now there are reports that they don’t want the host nation’s (Pakistan) name printed on their jersey. We believe that the world governing body (ICC) will not let this happen and support Pakistan," a PCB official told news agency IANS on Monday.
