Bangladesh won their first Test series against Pakistan on Tuesday as they defeated the host by six wickets in the second Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Chaing 185 for a win, Zakir Hasan scored 40 and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto made 38. Later, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan scored 22 not out and 21 not out respectively as Bangladesh scripted history in Rawalpindi.
Bangladesh had won the first Test by 10 wickets – also in Rawalpindi – for their first win over Pakistan in 14 matches.
Pakistan scored 274 and 172 in the second Test while Bangladesh recovered from 26-6 to make 262 in their first innings.
In all fairness, Bangladesh have had quite a few moments to be proud of. None more so than beating India in the 2007 WC. How fitting then, that the two kids from that day, Shakib and Mushfiq, now in the middle as veterans, see their team through to their biggest test series win.

For Bangladesh, I can’t think of anything bigger than this. The World Cup of 2015 was great, beating Australia and England at home fantastic. And the kiwi win was huge.

But Bangladesh were East Pakistan. They use to be given one position in the team for their players as a token…

Litton Das’s 138 rescued Bangladesh with the bat before fast bowlers Hasan Mahmud (5-43) and Nahid Rana (4-44) wrecked Pakistan on Monday.
This is only Bangladesh’s third away series win in 33 attempts, having also beaten the West Indies in 2009 and Zimbabwe three years ago.
