Australia have named almost a full-strength squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series in India as Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, and Mitchell Starc make a return. The trio missed the South Africa tour due to injuries. Travis Head, however, has not been named in the 18-member squad after suffering a fracture on his left hand in the fourth ODI against South Africa. Matthew Short has replaced Head in the squad. Aaron Hardie, Tim David, and Michael Neser have also not been picked, while Ashton Agar is on paternity leave. The three ODIs will take place on September 24 (Mohali), 28 (Indore) and October 1 (Rajkot). The ODI World Cup starts on 5 October.
