Mumbai Indians’ preparation for the upcoming season’s Indian Premier League (IPL) is going on in full flow. Several videos have been released on social media where captain Hardik Pandya and youngster Arjun Tendulkar can be seen honing their skills. One such video was shared by the Mumbai Indians franchise on their social media channels and it showed Arjun delivering a perfectly executed yorker to a batter. It was a perfect delivery as it landed on the crease and smashed the stumps even as the batter lost his footing.
Arjun was acquired by Mumbai Indians back in 2021 but he played his first match last season. He played four matches for the side and his performances were quite decent. The 17th edition of the IPL is scheduled to start on March 22 with a highly anticipated fixture between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The match between last year’s runners-up, Gujarat Titans and five-time champions Mumbai Indians will take place on March 24 in Ahmedabad. This fixture will get a lot of attention since star all-rounder Pandya has made a return to his former franchise, Mumbai Indians, following two successful seasons with Gujarat Titans. Shubman Gill has taken over the captaincy for Gujarat Titans.
Pandya, who recently made a comeback to competitive cricket in the DY Patil tournament, showcased his batting and bowling skills during the Mumbai Indians’ training session. Several videos have been posted online where he batted and bowled under the watchful eyes of the coaching staff.
