Haryana pacer Anshul Kamboj made history on Friday, November 15, by becoming the third bowler in Ranji Trophy history to take all 10 wickets in an innings. The 23-year-old achieved this remarkable feat during the fifth-round match against Kerala at the Chaudhary Bansi Lal Stadium in Lahli. Kamboj’s stellar bowling figures of 10/49 in 30.1 overs helped Haryana dismiss Kerala for 291 on the third day of play.

Kamboj joins an exclusive club in the prestigious tournament, sharing the distinction with Bengal’s Premangshu Chatterjee, who took 10/20 against Assam in January 1957, and Rajasthan’s Pradeep Sunderam, who claimed 10/78 against Vidarbha in November 1985. In first-class cricket, similar feats have been accomplished by players such as Subhash Gupte (1954-55), Anil Kumble (1999), and Debasis Mohanty (2000-01).

This milestone marks Kamboj’s first ten-wicket haul in first-class cricket. The right-arm seamer, born on December 6, 2000, in Karnal, Haryana, has an impressive record with 57 wickets in 19 first-class matches at an average of 24.14. An all-rounder, Kamboj has also accumulated 358 runs in his first-class career. Across formats, he has claimed 97 wickets, including in List A and T20 cricket. In the ongoing Ranji Trophy season, he is Haryana’s second-highest wicket-taker, with 17 wickets in three matches at an average of 9.88.

Anshul Kamboj’s impressive domestic record

Kamboj has also showcased his talent in other tournaments. Representing India A in the Emerging Asia Cup, he picked up four wickets in three matches, including a player-of-the-match performance against Pakistan Shaheens with figures of 3/33. Earlier, he topped the wicket-taker charts in the 2024-25 Duleep Trophy, taking 16 wickets in five innings for India C, with his best figures being 8/69 against India B.

In the IPL, Kamboj made his debut for Mumbai Indians in the 2024 season, claiming two wickets in three games. He also played a key role in Haryana’s victorious Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign in 2023-24, securing 17 wickets in 10 matches.
