Ahead of Deepti Sharma's 100th T20I, captain Harmanpreet Kaur's special message for star all-rounder

The Indian and England women’s cricket teams will take on each other in the second match of the ongoing three-match T20I series at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. Following the 38-run defeat in the first match, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian side needs to win the second game to keep the series alive. Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who made her debut in 2016 against Australia, will play her 100th T20I on Saturday. On this special occasion, captain Harmanpreet Kaur had a heartwarming message for Deepti. “Deepti is going to play her 100th T20 tomorrow and I am wishing her all the luck. Everyone knows how important she is for the team and she has always done so much for the team. Hopefully, she’ll come up with some really good performances,” the Indian team captain said.

She will become the fifth Indian to play as many as 100 T20Is. With this, she will join the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Smriti Mandhana, who are already on the list of players with 100 over more T20Is to their names. The 26-year-old is known for all-round heroics on the field. With 106 wickets to her name, she is also the only Indian bowler to have claimed over 100 wickets in the shortest format of the game. Apart from that, she has also scored 959 runs in T20Is respectively.
