A day after Yuzvendra Chahal was ignored by selectors for India’s T20 series against Australia, the leg-spinner showed his class in domestic cricket by taking six wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023-24 opener on Thursday against Uttrakhand. Chahal has not been included in Team India’s squad for the five-match T20 series which starts on 23 November in Vishakapatnam.
Ravi Bishnoi has been picked as the leg-spinner, while all-rounder Axar Patel and Washington Sundar are the other spinners in the team.
After the latest setback, the veteran spinner posted a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter) which only included an emoji.

There are reports that Team India management is ready to look beyond the 33-year-old in white-ball cricket as he was also ignored for the ODI World Cup recently.
On his exclusion from the World Cup which India lost to Australia in the final, Chahal had said that he was accustomed to such snubs.
“I understand that only fifteen players can be a part, because it’s a World Cup, where you can’t take 17 or 18,” Chahal said to Wisden India.
