The World Cup fixture between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka is scheduled to be played at the MCA International Stadium in Pune.

The two Asian outfits are currently tied on four points but Sri Lanka are placed ahead of Afghanistan due to their superior Net Run Rate (NRR). Sri Lanka will now head into the game having won their last match against defending champions England by eight wickets.

Chasing a target of 157, Pathum Nissanka and Sadeera Samarawickrama scored fifties to guide the Lankans home with eight wickets to spare. With four points from five games, Sri Lanka are placed in fifth position in the World Cup 2023 standings.
