They brought Ravindra Jadeja back to the franchise where he made his debut and let go of their captain Sanju Samson. Jadeja also came in with another all-rounder Sam Curran to the team, strengthening their lower order. They have only Rs 16.05 crore in their kitty and nine spots to fill. So they are playing smart at the auction.

RR had a terrible last season in the IPL where they finished second last. They could win only four matches and avoided the wooden spoon by the virtue of a slightly better Net Run Rate. They had problems with their bowling attack and they would look to better that in the auction.
