Rohit has scored 49 international centuries and is one of the most respected cricketers in the country. This move from MCA came after Rohit announced his retirement from Test cricket last week. Rohit shared the news of his retirement from the red-ball format with friends and followers via a social media post.
Meanwhile, the event also honoured other legends of Mumbai cricket. A stand was named after former Indian captain Ajit Wadekar and another after Sharad Pawar, a big name in Mumbai cricket administration and a politician belonging to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
