Rohit shared the news of his retirement from the red-ball format with friends and followers via a social media post.

Meanwhile, the event also honoured other legends of Mumbai cricket. A stand was named after former Indian captain Ajit Wadekar and another after Sharad Pawar, a big name in Mumbai cricket administration and a politician belonging to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
