Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player Yash Dayal has reportedly been booked for sexual harassment after a woman from Ghaziabad accused him of mentally and physically exploiting her with a false promise of marriage. The complaint was filed just a few days ago, and police have now taken action against the star cricketer by registering an FIR under BNS Section 69.
The woman said she had been in a relationship with Dayal for five years and claimed he misled her with a promise to marry but ended up exploiting her instead. She had sent her complaint through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s online grievance portal last month.
Dayal records statement with the police
According to The Indian Express, the police have registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Section 69, which deals with sexual relations made through false promises. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ghaziabad, Patil Nimish Dasharath, said that Yash Dayal has given his statement and further investigation is going on.
“We have registered a case under BNS Section 69 (sexual intercourse by deceitful means, including a false promise of marriage) against him and are probing further,” Dasharath was quoted as saying by the Indian daily.
In her complaint last month, the woman accused Dayal of taking money from her during the relationship. She further claimed that he had done similar things to other women in the past. She submitted chat messages, screenshots, video call records, and photos as proof of the relationship and the alleged abuse.
As of now, there has been no official response from Yash Dayal or his team. Dayal is from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He plays for the UP team in domestic cricket. Apart from that, Dayal has represented the Gujarat Titans in the IPL for two seasons before moving to RCB. He was part of the RCB team that won the IPL 2025 season.
