Graham Hume

Graham Ian Hume, a South African-born cricketer, has become an integral part of the Ireland cricket team since making his international debut in July 2022. Known for his bowling prowess, Hume has steadily risen through the ranks, showcasing his skills in various formats of the game.

Hume’s journey began in South Africa, where he represented KwaZulu-Natal Inland in domestic competitions. He gained prominence during the 2017–18 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup, finishing as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 40 dismissals in just ten matches. His consistent performances earned him a spot in the 2016 Africa T20 Cup squad.

In 2019, Hume transitioned to Irish cricket, joining the North West Warriors for the Inter-Provincial Cup. His talent caught the eye of Cricket Ireland, and in February 2021, he was selected for the Ireland Wolves’ tour of Bangladesh. By May 2022, Hume secured a nine-month contract with Cricket Ireland, marking the beginning of his international career.
Hume debuted in One Day Internationals (ODIs) for Ireland on 15 July 2022 against New Zealand. Shortly afterward, he was included in the T20I squad for Ireland’s series against South Africa and Afghanistan, making his T20I debut on 12 August 2022 against Afghanistan. His reliable performances earned him further opportunities, including his Test debut against Bangladesh on 4 April 2023 during Ireland’s tour of the subcontinent.

Hume’s role within the team expanded in 2023, with key contributions in Ireland's Test, ODI, and T20I squads for tours of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. In May 2024, his consistent form earned him a place in Ireland’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. From his early days dominating South African domestic cricket to becoming a versatile asset for Ireland, Graham Hume’s journey reflects his resilience and adaptability.
