In light of the possibility of such incidents recurring, authorities at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium have taken a unique step to ensure the smooth conduct of upcoming matches, a report in Pakistan’s Tribune has claimed.

The hot-headed fans of both sides were embroiled in a violent brawl in the Asia Cup 2022. To avoid any repeat of the past incident, separate stands and entry points will be designated for the fans of Pakistan and Afghanistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

As a capacity crowd is expected to turn up for the matches, the decision has been taken for the safety and comfort of all spectators.

Organisers have announced that ticket sales will be restricted according to nationality, as fans will be designated with specific seating areas throughout the tournament. The stadium can manage a crowd of 16000 people.
