Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has warned India to be prepared for serious consequences if they decide to take stern action against Pakistan over the Pahalgam terrorist attack . Naqvi, who is also part of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s government as the Federal Interior Minister, has also called for international probe into the deadly terrorist attack that took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam in which 26 individuals, most of them tourists, were killed.
“Pakistan is ready to fully cooperate with any neutral party conducting a probe, as we seek to expose the real perpetrators behind the attack,” Naqvi said at a press conference in Lahore on Saturday, according to Geo News.
Naqvi accuses India of ‘using terrorism’ for its objectives
Naqvi, however, pinned the blame of the terror attack on India and even went to the extent of saying that the neighbouring country could not stand to see “Pakistan’s economic stability”.
“Pakistan’s economic stability is intolerable for India. The world must see how the country that claims to be the largest democracy is using terrorism to achieve its objectives,” Naqvi said on Saturday, as quoted by Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune.
Naqvi, who had taken over as PCB chairman in February last year after Zaka Ashraf’s decision to step down, added that every citizen of Pakistan will “fight till last breath” if India tried to “suppress their rights”.
India responded to the terrorist attack , which took place at the scenic Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam on 22 April, with a series of measures including putting the Indus Waters Treaty on hold as well as closing the Attari-Wagah border checkpost and suspending all Pakistani visas.
