Indian batter KL Rahul was blessed with a baby girl on Monday. The good news was shared by KL Rahul and wife Athiya Shetty on social media platforms. “Blessed with a baby girl. 24.03.2025,” KL Rahul wrote on X.
The news of Rahul becoming a father brings an end to speculations surrounding his absence from the Delhi Capitals' (DC) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Visakhapatnam on Monday. Rahul was bought by DC for Rs 14 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction after he was released by LSG.
As per reports, Rahul was late to join the DC camp and left the squad on the eve of their IPL 2025 opener against LSG to be with her wife.
He is expected to rejoin the DC squad ahead of their second match in IPL 2025, against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 30 March.
Rahul is expected to bat in the middle order for DC this season as they are set to have Jake Fraser-McGurk and Faf du Plessis at the top.
