RCB star Jitesh Sharma faced an awkward moment at Lord’s as security officials failed to recognise him, denying entry at media centre until Dinesh Karthik stepped in to help. The incident went viral during the third Test of the India vs England series.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Jitesh Sharma had an awkward moment at Lord’s Cricket Ground during the recently concluded third Test between India and England. In a video that is going viral on social media, Jitesh could be seen standing near the Lord’s media centre trying to explain to the security staff who he was after they didn’t recognise him.

Despite his repeated attempts to explain who he was, the security officials refused to let him in. Jitesh, who was surrounded by a group of fans, looked visibly frustrated. Just then, former India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik, who was attending the match as a commentator, came to pick him up.

Karthik later clarified on social media that Jitesh had been invited by him to the media centre, and the video circulating online was actually from the media centre entrance, not the main gate of Lord’s.

Earlier this year, Jitesh played a big role in helping RCB lift their maiden IPL title after 18 years. Karthik was also part of the team as a mentor and batting coach. RCB defeated Punjab Kings in the final to end their long wait for the trophy. Since making his India debut in 2023, Jitesh has played seven T20Is but is yet to feature in ODIs or Tests.

Meanwhile, in the ongoing England vs India Test series, India are trailing 1-2. After losing the first Test at Headingley, they made a strong comeback at Edgbaston but suffered a heartbreaking 22-run defeat at Lord’s to go down again in the contest. The fourth Test will be played at Old Trafford in Manchester from 23 July, where India will have the chance the level the scores again.
