After starring in India’s title-winning campaign in the recent ICC Women’s World Cup, Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma were retained by Delhi Capitals for the fourth season of the Women’s Premier League next year.

Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues are set to stay with the Delhi Capitals in the fourth season of the Women's Premier League. PTI

After playing an instrumental role in India’s historic triumph at the ICC Women’s World Cup, Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma have been retained by the JSW-GMR co-owned Delhi Capitals ahead of the WPL 2026 Mega Auction.

Rodrigues, who scored an unbeaten 127 against Australia in the semi-final, expressed her delight at being retained by the franchise. She said, “This team always stands by each other. Whether we win or lose, we feel the support and freedom to play our way, be it from the owners, the coaching staff, or the management.”

Verma, who scored an impressive 87 off 78 balls and took two key wickets in the final against South Africa, said, “The team has always felt like a family. We’ve had this environment since the first season, which the owners, staff and management have built together. We want to carry that into 2026."

Delhi Capitals have also retained Annabel Sutherland, Marizanne Kapp, and Niki Prasad. The franchise heads into the WPL 2026 Mega Auction with 13 available slots and a remaining purse of ₹5.70 crore.
