In just 19 years, Indian Premier League (IPL) has become one of the biggest sporting competitions in the world. The amount of money involved in this tournament is mind-boggling especially since all other big money churning sports leagues have a long history.

Uncapped crorepatis of IPL 2026
The 2026 IPL auction saw something that was unheard of. Two uncapped players, Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer, were signed for a whooping Rs 14.2 crore each by Chennai Super Kings. This made the duo the highest paid uncapped players in the history of the competition.
Sharma is 19 and Veer is 20 and the duo has been paid this much money for the talent that they possess. While their youthful energy was rewarded, experience and perseverance too got big money. Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Auqib Nabi fetched Rs 8.4 crore from Delhi Capitals for his stunning performance in domestic cricket.
Mangesh Yadav of Madhya Pradesh also earned big as he was sold to Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs 5.2 crore. He is one of the four players to have earned more than Rs 5 crore even before receiving a maiden India call-up. In fact, Apart from Nabi, the other three are nowhere even close to it.
