Why did Kohli and Rahul have a heated exchange?
Kohli’s frustration might have started earlier, during the 7th over of the chase. DC’s fielders had delayed the game by trying to adjust their positions during a free-hit delivery bowled to Krunal Pandya by Vipraj Nigam. The umpires even warned DC about the slow tactics.
Later, another delay happened when KL Rahul had a long chat with Nigam before bowling a delivery, which further annoyed Kohli. The situation reached a boiling point after DC reviewed an LBW decision against Krunal Pandya off Kuldeep Yadav, which led to the brief verbal exchange between Kohli and Rahul.
RCB secure top spot on IPL 2025 points table
RCB pulled off a solid six-wicket win over DC. Chasing 163, RCB were in early trouble at 26 for 3, but Krunal Pandya (73 not out off 47 balls) and Virat Kohli (51 off 47 balls) stitched a match-winning 119-run stand to rescue the innings.
Earlier, DC posted 162/8 with KL Rahul (41) and Tristan Stubbs (34) playing key knocks, but RCB’s bowlers, led by Josh Hazlewood, kept things tight. With this win, RCB strengthened their push for a playoff spot.
