The return of key players such as Delhi Capitals’ Mitchell Starc and Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Josh Hazlewood for the remaining matches of the season is doubtful, especially since both teams are still in the race to the playoffs with RCB on the verge of sealing their qualification. The two pacers will also be hoping to keep themselves fresh for the ICC World Test Championship final, in which Australia defends its title against South Africa.

Australia captain Pat Cummins, however, is likely to return to India to lead Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are already eliminated, in their remaining matches.

IPL 2025 New Schedule Live: Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the 18th season of the Indian Premier League, which will be back in action on Saturday after a week-long suspension.

With India and Pakistan arriving at a ceasefire agreement on Saturday following days of conflict, the BCCI has deemed it safe for action to resume although they will still be wary of any last-minute developments in the areas adjoining the border, which have been relatively calm over the last couple of days.

IPL 2025 Restart LIVE Updates: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ended the suspense on the resumption of the Indian Premier League on Monday by unveiling a revised schedule for the remaining matches of the season. The BCCI had suspended the 18th IPL season for a week on Friday due to the armed conflict between India and Pakistan, which had resulted in the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala getting called off halfway into the PBKS innings.

The BCCI conducted a meeting to discuss the resumption of the league a day after India and Pakistan arrived at a ceasefire agreement, and on Monday unveiled a revised schedule – in which the remaining matches would take place from 17 May to 3 June.

Bengaluru, Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Lucknow and Ahmedabad will be hosting the remaining league matches while the BCCI is yet to take a call on the venues for the playoffs, which get underway from 29 May. Hyderabad and Kolkata were originally scheduled to host the playoffs and could still be in contention.

The revised schedule includes two double-headers, both taking place on Sundays (18 and 25 May).
