In a repeat of last year’s final, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday (3 April) at the Eden Gardens in the Indian Premier League (IPL) . KKR beat SRH by eight wickets in the IPL 2024 final to clinch the trophy and now Sunrisers have a good chance to take revenge.
Both teams are currently struggling for results with both KKR and SRH losing two out of three matches so far. While SRH’s slam-bang batting approach backfired in their last two matches after making a winning start against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2025, KKR lost their opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) before beating RR and then losing to Mumbai Indians.
A return to Eden Gardens will also put the focus back on the pitch after KKR complained about a lack of assistance for spinners in their opening match against RCB. The curator shot back at the franchise , stating that pitch preparation is governed by the BCCI.
It will be interesting to see how the Kolkata pitch behaves in KKR vs SRH match .

As far as the head-to-head record is concerned, KKR have a massive edge. Kolkata have won 19 out of 28 contests against the Sunrisers while Hyderabad have only won nine games.
