IPL 2025: GT, PBKS, & RCB qualify for playoffs after DC suffer dominating 10-wicket loss

Gujarat Titans thrashed Delhi Capitals by 10 wickets to become the first team to qualify for IPL 2025 playoffs. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill starred in a record-breaking chase in Delhi. GT also helped Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru qualify for the playoffs.

Gujarat Titans (GT) showed a brilliant performance as they chased down a big target of 200 runs against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. GT won the match by 10 wickets with 6 balls remaining, making it an easy victory for the team. They also became the first team to qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs, climbing to the top of the table.

Delhi Capitals posted a strong total of 199 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their full 20 overs. KL Rahul was the top scorer for DC, playing a fantastic innings of 112 runs off just 65 balls. He hit 14 fours and 4 sixes. Other notable contributors were Abishek Porel (30) and Axar Patel (25), and Tristan Stubbs (21).

However, DC’s bowlers failed to stop the Gujarat Titans’ powerful opening pair. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill made an outstanding partnership, scoring 108 and 93 runs respectively without losing a wicket. Their calm and confident batting made the chase look very easy. The bowlers from DC tried hard but couldn’t break the partnership.

With this win, Gujarat Titans have secured their place in the IPL 2025 playoffs, taking Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) along with them. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are still alive in the playoff race as they now need to win both their remaining matches to qualify. They are in a battle with the Mumbai Indians for the one remaining playoff spot.
