India vs Sri Lanka Highlights: Pathum Nissanka slams his maiden T20I century and forges a 127-run partnership for the second wicket with Kusal Perera to put Sri Lanka in pole position for a consolation victory in the final Super 4s match of the 2025 Asia Cup. The Indian bowlers, however, fight back in the last five overs, with Nissanka getting dismissed for 107 at the start of the final over, to ensure both teams finish level on 202 and the match goes into a Super Over. Arshdeep Singh then exhibits his death-bowling brilliance, collecting two wickets for as many runs in five balls, with Suryakumar Yadav knocking off the three runs required for victory in just one delivery, extending India’s winning run in the process. Earlier, Abhishek Sharma’s 31-ball 61 and Tilak Varma’s unbeaten 49 had helped the Men in Blue become the first team to breach the 200-mark in the ongoing tournament.

Pathum Nissanka is the Player of the Match for his magnificent 107 off 58 balls!

Nissanka, however does not attend the post-match presentation ceremony. Could be recovering at the moment.
September 27, 2025, 00:43:49 (IST)

What a game that turned out to be – definitely the standout match of the tournament so far!

Spare a thought for young Pathum Nissanka, who produced one of the standout knocks of his career, if not the best, and would certainly have taken his team past the finish line had he not hit the ball down short fine’s throat at the start of the final over.

Nissanka deserved to be on the winning side after his magnificent 107 off 58, carrying his bat through the innings until the final over. India, however, proved just why they are the T20 world champions, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

Credit to Harshit Rana for believing in himself and keeping India in the hunt in the final over, even if both teams finished level on 202. And Arshdeep deserves a pat on his back for his exceptional death-bowling display in the Super Over, condemning the Lankans to a third consecutive defeat in a space of five balls!

He might find it difficult to slot into the Indian XI given the conditions and team balance, but has once again reminded us why he’s India’s leading wicket-taker in the shortest format and is right up there in the pecking order behind Jasprit Bumrah.

INDIA DEFEAT SRI LANKA IN THE SUPER OVER TO EXTEND THEIR WINNING RUN INTO THE FINAL!

Wanindu Hasaranga bowls the Super Over, with captain Suryakumar Yadav on strike, and the latter punches the ball through extra cover. The ball doesn’t run all the way to the boundary, but gives SKY enough time to collect a third run. That’s the second time in as many T20I meetings that the match has gone into a Super Over, with the Men in Blue triumphing in the end. IND 3/0 after 0.1
September 27, 2025, 00:28:34 (IST)

OUT! Shanaka holes out to the man at deep backward point as Sri Lanka collect just two runs for two wickets in the Super Over!

Shanaka swings his bat hard right after the bizarre events of the fourth delivery, and gets a thick edge that sends the ball the boundary behind square, where Jitesh gets under the ball and completes an easy catch! This is some death-bowling by Arshdeep, who remains an asset for India in the shortest format. SL 2/2 after 0.5
September 27, 2025, 00:25:06 (IST)

More drama in the Super Over! Dasun Shanaka is run-out comfortably in the fourth ball of the Super Over, but somehow continues to bat!

Shanaka had missed the ball completely and had set off for a single, with Sanju Samson comfortably running him out with a throw at the striker’s end.

Arshdeep, however, had appealed for a caught-behind, and the on-field umpire raised his finger for some reason. So Shanaka’s officially caught-behind, and not run-out, and he decides to review it. No contact with the bat, and because of the caught-behind appeal, the run-out won’t count as the ball had become dead.

Bizarre, but that’s cricket! Can Shanaka capitalise on the reprieve and get the Lankans to double-digits?

India vs Sri Lanka, Super Over: Arshdeep keeps things tidy so far, conceding just 1 run in three balls!

Kamindu Mendis sets off for a quick single in his first delivery in order to bring Dasun Shanaka, who’s in excellent nick at the moment, on strike. Arshdeep, however, beats Shanaka in the third delivery of the over. SL 1/1 after 0.3
September 27, 2025, 00:18:07 (IST)

OUT! Kusal Perera perishes first ball in the Super Over!

0.1: What a start for Arshdeep as Perera, who had struck 58 earlier in the evening, holes out to Rinku Singh at sweeper cover! SL 0/1

Kusal Perera and Dasun Shanaka make their way out to the centre as Pathum Nissanka is being given a breather after his marathon knock

Arshdeep Singh it is who will be bowling the Super Over. Can he deliver for the second time in as many overs?
September 27, 2025, 00:12:32 (IST)

IT'S A SUPER OVER IN DUBAI – The first of the 2025 Asia Cup!

Shanaka clobbers the ball towards long on, and dashes back for a second after a fumble by the fielder in the deep. The former captain, however, has a brain-fade – he puts in a dive at the striker’s end instead of dashing back for a winning run! It’s not just Axar who fumbles with the throw at long on, Harshit also fails to collect the ball cleanly at the non-striker’s end! End in the, both teams finish on identical scores of 202/5, as the contest goes on!
September 27, 2025, 00:10:04 (IST)

FOUR! Streaky boundary for Shanaka as the ball flies over the slip fielder, and away to the third man fence for a four!

Sri Lanka need 3 to win off 1 balls and it’s the former captain who’s on strike for the final ball of the innings! SL 200/5 in 19.5
September 27, 2025, 00:07:08 (IST)

OUT! HARSHIT RANA GETS RID OF PATHUM NISSANKA!

Surya backs an out-of-sorts Rana to bowl the final over, and the pacer delivers right away as he gets rid of Nissanka first ball! Nissanka flicks a ball that is angled down leg, but hits it straight to Varun at short fine! Superb bowling as well as tactics! Janith Liyanage walks in next, and he’s facing his first delivery of the tournament! SL 191/5 after 19.1; need 12 off 5

FOUR! Shanaka ruins what was turning out to be a superb penultimate over by Arshdeep Singh!

Arshdeep bowls a couple of wides in the penultimate ball, but does well to not concede a single boundary… until the final delivery, in which Shanaka clobbers the ball down the ground for a welcome boundary! Sri Lanka 191/4 after 19; need 12 to win off 6
September 27, 2025, 00:00:06 (IST)

SIX! Back of length from Axar, and this time it's former skipper Dasun Shanaka who gets into the six-hitting act as he clears deep midwicket!

10 off Axar’s third over of the evening, with the left-arm spinner having conceded 32 in three wicket-less overs so far. Will he bowl the final over, or will that go to Harshit Rana? SL 180/4 after 18; need 23 off 12
September 26, 2025, 23:55:50 (IST)

SIX! PATHUM NISSANKA BRINGS UP HIS MAIDEN T20I CENTURY IN STYLE!

Nissanka hammers the ball down the ground, clearing the straight boundary off Arshdeep’s bowling, to bring up what is his first T20I century as well as only the third in the history of the Men’s T20 Asia Cup! Sri Lanka 170/4; need 33 off 18
September 26, 2025, 23:54:27 (IST)

OUT! Arshdeep gets rid of Kamindu Mendis as Sri Lanka suddenly find themselves under a bit of pressure by losing two wickets in as many overs!

India vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup LIVE: Sri Lanka need 42 off 24 balls with seven wickets in hand for a consolation victory over India

Kuldeep Yadav, meanwhile, bowls an excellent final over to sign off with 1/31. Couple of LBW appeals against new batter Kamindu Mendis, but the batter gets a bit of bat on both occasions. SL 161/3 after 16
September 26, 2025, 23:45:03 (IST)

OUT! Kuldeep finally gets a wicket in his final over of the day as Asalanka departs for 5 off 9!

Sri Lanka skipper Charith Asalanka hardly got going today, and ended up holing out to Shubman Gill at long on. Sri Lanka still favourites to pull this off, especially with Nissanka still around. SL 157/3 after 15.1; need 46 off 29

FOUR! Into the nervous nineties is Pathum Nissanka, as Sri Lanka move past 150 with five overs remaining!

Nissanka keeps the pressure levels in check with a second boundary in as many overs with a lofted drive towards sweeper cover at the start of the 15th over. He collects a brace in the following delivery before getting off strike with a single. Skipper Asalanka, meanwhile, is batting on 5 off 8 at the other, and is struggling to get a move on. SL 157/2; need 46 off 30
September 26, 2025, 23:35:57 (IST)

FOUR! A welcome boundary for the Sri Lankans just when the Indian spinners were starting to build some pressure!

Axar keeps things tidy in the first four deliveries of his second over, conceding just four runs. Nissanka, however, decides to shift gears with a pull towards the square leg fence for his sixth four. A misfield by Arshdeep in the final delivery allows Nissanka to dash back for a third. Nissanks’s batting on 86 at the end of the over and will be hoping to bring up the three-figure mark for the first time in his career today. SL 147/2 after 14; need 56 off 36
September 26, 2025, 23:32:39 (IST)

OUT! Varun Chakravarthy finally breaks the marathon second-wicket stand, which is ultimately worth 127, as Kusal Perera is stumped for 58 off 32 balls!

The pressure was starting to build in the previous over, in which Kuldeep Yadav conceded just four runs and bowled three dots. Perera aims to maintain Sri Lanka’s momentum and charges down the track, only to miss the ball completely, resulting in an easy stumping for Samson. SL 136/2 after 13; need 67 off 42
September 26, 2025, 23:25:47 (IST)

The carnage continues on the other side of the mid-innings drinks interval!

Harshit Rana concedes 16 runs in his third over, and has leaked 44 runs in three wicketless overs so far! Perera scythes the ball behind point after being offered plenty of room by the reserve pacer while Nissanka tonks Rana for a six and a four later in the over, causing a dent on a display car near the midwicket fence with a powerful strike. SL 130/1 after 11; need 73 to win off 54
September 26, 2025, 23:17:23 (IST)

A third milestone in as many overs, with the partnership between Nissanka and Perera going past the century mark!

11 off Chakravarthy’s second over including a six off Nissanka’s bat in the penultimate delivery of the over that is straight as an arrow! This a couple of deliveries after Nissanka brings up century of the partnership with a brace. Just the second century stand in the ongoing tournament after Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill’s 105-run opening stand against Pakistan.

The over also witnesses Axar parry the ball over the boundary rope for a six near long on after a slog-sweep by Nissanka off Chakravarthy, only for the umpire to signal a dead ball due to the fact that Abhishek wasn’t off the field yet at the time of the delivery being bowled.

Sri Lanka race to 114/1 at the halfway stage in their chase of 203, and currently are favourites for victory, needing 89 more to win off 60 with 9 wickets in hand.

India vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup LIVE: Kusal Perera also brings up a 25-ball half-century!

India turn to Kuldeep after powerplay as the Nissanka-Perera partnership begins to worry SKY

Perera, however, continues to attack the spinners as he gets down on one knee and sweeps towards the midwicket fence. The fielder at deep square leg runs to his right, albeit in vain. SL 81/1 after 7; target: 203
September 26, 2025, 22:55:28 (IST)

Sri Lanka reach 72/1 at the end of the powerlay – one more than what India had managed at the same stage!

Kusal Perera keeps the party going by collecting back-to-back fours off Axar Patel, who is introduced in the final over of the powerplay as Suryakumar Yadav opts for spin for the first time today. Perera and Nissanka keep the scoreboard ticking thereafter with a single off each of the last three overs. SL 72/1 after 6; target: 203
September 26, 2025, 22:53:36 (IST)

SL 61/1 after 5

OUCH! Pathum Nissanka gets smacked on the helmet after Harshit Rana decides to test the opener with some short-pitched stuff

Pause in the proceedings as the Sri Lankan team physio decides to check the opener for possible concussion. September 26, 2025, 22:43:09 (IST)

SIX! Sounded like a gun-shot after it comes off Nissanka's bat as the opener pulls Arshdeep towards the wide long on fence for the first maximum of the Sri Lankan chase

The in-form Nissanka, who scored back-to-back fifties in the group stage of the tournament, follows it up with a lofted shot over extra cover for a four. Expensive spell so far for Arshdeep as he concedes 26 runs in two overs, including 15 on the one. SL 45/1 after 4; target: 203

FOUR! Slightly short from Harshit Rana and Kusal Perera pulls this towards wide long on for his second boundary in as many overs!

The ball lands marginally short of the boundary rope, resulting in the umpire signalling a four. Nissanka ends the over with a boundary after getting a thick outside edge that sends the ball over the slip cordon and away to the third man fence. 11 off Rana’s first over after he replaces Pandya, who leaves the field for some reason with Rinku taking his place. SL 30/1 after 3; target: 203
September 26, 2025, 22:35:07 (IST)

Expensive start for Arshdeep Singh from the other end as he goes for 12, with Kusal Perera collecting his first boundary

Perera dashes back for a second run in the second delivery after a mistimed pull towards deep midwicket, with the ball slowing on its way to the boundary rope. The southpaw is back on strike after Nissanka pinches a single, and this time clobbers the ball down the ground for a four. SL 19/1 after 2; target: 203
September 26, 2025, 22:29:38 (IST)

India waste a review early after an unsuccessful LBW appeal by Pandya against Kusal Perera!

One Kusal makes way for another as Perera walks to the centre following Mendis’ exit. And the former is under pressure right away as Pandya beats him with two excellent deliveries, appealing for leg-before on the previous delivery. India skipper Surya, however, decides to go for the review for some reason even after the ball appeared to be pitching outside leg. And that indeed turned out to be the case. Seven runs and a wicket in the first over. SL 7/1 after 1; target: 203
September 26, 2025, 22:23:34 (IST)

OUT! Hardik Pandya with the early strike once again as Kusal Mendis departs for a golden duck!

SIX! Axar finishes in style with a six as India set Sri Lanka 203 to win in the final Super 4s match of the Asia Cup!

Tilak Varma, however, misses out on a deserved half-century as he remains stranded on 49 off 34 at the other end. Then again, Axar’s justified in dashing back for a second run in the penultimate delivery of the innings, keeping the team’s cause in mind ahead of personal milestones, something that Tilak himself would have justified.

Was turning out to be an excellent final over from Chameera, despite Sri Lanka having to put an extra fielder inside the circle due to the slow over rate, until Axar collected 8 runs in the last two to steer India past 200 – first time the milestone has been breached in the ongoing tournament! IND 202/5 after 20

September 26, 2025, 21:54:13 (IST)

10 conceded by Theekshana in the penultimate over, as India reach 189/5 with an over to go in their innings!

This includes a boundary to Tilak in the second delivery as he gets a thick top-edge off a sweep, with the ball landing between two fielders directly behind the keeper and rolling away to the fence. Axar, meanwhile, is nearly run-out at the non-striker’s end after casually strolling for a single, only noticing a charging Kusal Mendis in the last second. Tilak’s batting on 47 at the moment.
September 26, 2025, 21:47:42 (IST)

FOUR! First boundary for Axar as he steers a full delivery from Thushara past the lone slip fielder and towards the third man fence!

10 off Thushara’s final over of the evening as he signs off wicketless for 43 runs. India, meanwhile, are one short of the 180 with two overs left. 200 very much in reach for the Men in Blue. IND 179/5 after 18
September 26, 2025, 21:39:15 (IST)

OUT! Outstanding catch by Dushmantha Chameera off his own bowling to dismiss Hardik Pandya as Sri Lanka grab two quick wickets!

Pandya sends the ball high in the night sky towards mid off off a mishit. Chameera dashes to his right after his follow-through and puts in a dive to complete an outstanding catch with a dive while running in the opposite direction! Five runs and two wickets in the last six deliveries! Axar Patel’s out in the middle now. IND 162/5 after 16.1

India vs Sri Lanka LIVE Score, Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 Match: India will look to maintain their unbeaten run in the Asia Cup 2025 as they face Sri Lanka in their final Super 4 clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday, September 26. Having already booked their place in the final, Suryakumar Yadav’s men are expected to test their bench strength against a battered Sri Lankan side.

All eyes will be on the Indian team management to see if they give opportunities to players like Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma in the dead rubber against Sri Lanka, who have already been knocked out of the Asia Cup. With a high-voltage final against arch-rivals Pakistan scheduled for Sunday, this match is a good chance for the Men in Blue to test their bench strength and rest some of their key players ahead of the much-anticipated clash.

However, the match will also give players like Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube a chance to regain their batting form. For that to happen, India would ideally need to win the toss and opt to bat first, allowing all their batters some valuable time in the middle ahead of the big final.

How to watch the India vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 match?

The Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 game between India and Sri Lanka will be live broadcast on Sony Sports Network in India. Fans can watch the live streaming of the match on the SonyLiv app and website.
