According to Times of India journo Sahil Malhotra, Rishabh Pant has been taken for scans at the hospital after a serious blow on the right foot.

Rishabh Pant retired out after getting hit on his foot. Here are heartbreaking images from the incident that forced Pant to get off the field.

Rishabh Pant has retired hurt after suffering a painful blow on his right leg. He was taken off the field by the physio, hopping on one leg. A buggy was eventually brought out to take him back to the pavilion for further treatment. Ravindra Jadeja now walks in to join Sai Sudharsan at the crease.

Rishabh Pant has become the first wicketkeeper in Test history to score 1000-plus runs in an away country, achieving the feat in England. His next-best overseas tally is 879 runs in Australia, which is the second-highest on the list.

Pant is also on the verge of another landmark as he is just one six away from becoming the player with the most sixes for India in Test cricket. One more maximum will take him past Virender Sehwag.

Rishabh Pant has become the highest-scoring visiting wicketkeeper in Test cricket on English soil, crossing the 1000-run milestone during his counterattacking knock at Old Trafford.

“I don’t want to connect this dismissal with the incident on Day 3, but suddenly Shubman Gill is not getting the scores. And this is a bit of a reality check. It’s not an extended stretch of failures. But three short innings where he has been out playing a defensive shot. I see a little bit of tentativeness,” Manjrekar says on JioHotstar.
