India’s losing streak in tosses continued on Tuesday during their ICC Champions Trophy semi-final meeting against Australia in Dubai . India captain Rohit Sharma ended up on the losing side of a toss yet again as his Australian counterpart Steve Smith opted to bat at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

It was the 14th consecutive time India had lost the toss in the ODI format, with the unwanted streak stretching all the way back to the final of the 2023 ICC World Cup in Ahmedabad, in which an undefeated Indian team suffered a six-wicket defeat against Australia.
As for the first semi-final of the ninth edition of the Champions Trophy, the Men in Blue opted to retain the combination that defeated New Zealand by 44 runs on Sunday , the victory helping them finish on top of Group A.
Australia, the team that finished second in Group B behind South Africa, made two changes to the side that was in pole position to defeat Afghanistan in Lahore on Friday, only for the game to end in a No Result due to heavy rain followed by a wet outfield.
