What captains said?

Australia skipper Mitchell Marsh said that Australia too were not accustomed to the surface at the Carrara Oval as the team did not play on the ground enough.

“We don’t play a lot here. It is great to be here, will try to get as much information about the surface as we can,” Marsh said after deciding to bowl first for the 20th straight time in T20Is after winning the toss.

Apart from Maxwell and Zampa, Josh Philippe and Ben Dwarshuis too were added to the Australian playing XI.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav predicted that the wicket might get slower as the game progresses.

“The preparation has been good. We had a day off, had a good practice session yesterday, looks like a subcontinent wicket, later on it might get slower so we are happy to bat first,” Yadav said at the toss. “We were looking to bat first. Looks similar to Indian conditions, put runs on the board and we want to take up that challenge.”
