Spin-bowling all-rounder Vihaan Malhotra (4/14) leads the destruction on the other side of the rain delay with four wickets in as many overs while Khilan Patel (2/35) collects a couple of wickets as the 2020 champions crumble like a house of cards. Earlier in the day, Abhigyan Kundu (80) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (72) had struck half-centuries as India were bowled out for 238 after being invited to bat.

For India Under-19, D. Deepesh struck early, but they struggled for a while to contain the batters before Kanishk Chouhan broke the key partnership ahead of the rain delay. With 165 runs to defend in 29 overs, India showed immense calm under pressure, and when Ayush Mhatre turned to Vihaan Malhotra, the game changed completely. Despite losing an early wicket, Bangladesh Under-19 recovered through a 56-run partnership between Rifat Beg and skipper Azizul Hakim Tamim and were comfortably placed at 90/2 when rain arrived. After the restart, they were ahead of the DLS target and remained so as light drizzle continued. However, once conditions improved, they lost their nerve, chasing big shots despite a modest asking rate. Tamim’s composed fifty kept them in the hunt, but with wickets falling regularly, Bangladesh fell short by 18 runs.

India U19 vs Bangladesh U19 LIVE Score: India Under-19 national cricket team take on Bangladesh U19 in their second match of the ongoing ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, on Saturday (17 January). India started their Group A campaign with a six-wicket win over the USA in a rain-truncated game on Thursday.

Henil Patel was the star of the match as the pacer took five wickets for 16 runs in seven overs. The USA were bowled out for 107 after India decided to bowl first, but Vaibhav Suryavanshi fell cheaply in the chase. Ritvik Appidi cleaned him up for just two runs.

Later, wicket-keeper Abhigyan Kundu scored 42 not out as India completed the chase in just 17.2 overs despite a rain delay .

IND vs BAN amid high tension

India’s match against Bangladesh comes amid heightened tension between the two nations. Ever since BCCI decided to remove Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL, Bangladesh have been demanding to move their T20 World Cup matches outside of India.

According to reports, an ICC delegate will visit Bangladesh today to hold negotiations with the BCB.

Meanwhile, the Saturday match is Bangladesh’s first game in the ongoing U19 World Cup.
