After winning the first match by 101 runs and suffering a 51-run loss in the second T20, Team India roared back with a seven-wicket victory in the previous game at Dharamsala, taking a 2-1 lead. Winning the five-match T20 series against South Africa with a game to spare would allow the Men In Blue to do some experiments in the final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Another crucial factor would be dew. It is expected to be a big factor in the match, hence the team winning the toss may opt to bowl first due to dew in Lucknow.
