The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made a new addition to its Test squad for the upcoming five-match series against England. Fast-bowling all-rounder Harshit Rana has been called up to join Team India for this important series, which will mark the start of the new cycle of the World Test Championship for the Indian side.
Harshit Rana added to India’s squad
The 23-year-old fast bowler was part of the India A squad that recently played two unofficial Tests against England Lions. Rana played just one match against the Lions, where he picked up a solitary wicket and scored 16 runs with the bat. Rana made his Test debut against Australia earlier this year, where he played just two games and picked up 4 wickets.
Rana was not added to the original 18-member squad announced for the England series, but has now been picked as a last-minute choice.
“He has been added as cover and arrived in Leeds with the team today,” a BCCI source was quoted as saying by Sportstar.
