England vs India LIVE Score, 2nd Test Day 1: Team India will be hoping to level the five-Test series with three matches to spare when they face England at Edgbaston, Birmingham in the second Test that gets underway on Wednesday. India currently trail the series 0-1 following a five-wicket defeat in the series opener at Headingley, Leeds last week – despite the Shubman Gill-led side finding themselves firmly on top more than once in the game.
India expected to make multiple changes at Edgbaston
Given the number of batting collapses in the series opener along with ordinary bowling performances that undid the hard work of the top-five batters as well as star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, India are expected to make multiple changes to their playing XI at Edgbaston.
Bumrah had already stated that he isn’t likely to play more than three out of five Tests in order to manage his workload following a recent back injury, and has reportedly been ruled out of the Edgbaston Test, meaning India will have to deal with at least one forced change.
India are also likely to bench all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who had been preferred over Nitish Kumar Reddy for his handy seam bowling but leaked runs at over five-an-over across both innings.
