England vs India LIVE Score, 1st Test Day 4: Team India will look to post an insurmountable target on Day 4 of the first Test against England at Headingley, Leeds, on Monday. The match is nicely poised after Jasprit Bumrah took a five-wicket haul and England fell short by just six runs in the first Innings, scoring 465.
KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 47 as India ended Day 3 on 90/2 with Shubman Gill unbeaten at the other end on 6. Yashasvi Jaiswal (4) and Sai Sudharsan (30) are the two wickets to fall for India so far. Jasiwal was caught in the slips off Brydon Carse while England captain Ben Stokes had Sudharsan caught at mid-wicket.
Nonetheless, Rahul’s classy knock in which he played some brilliant off-drives and shots to the leg-side has given India some early momentum and he, along with Gill, will look to forge a solid partnership today. The pitch in Headingley still does not offer much to the bowlers apart from a bit of spin and swing in between.
This offers the perfect opportunity for India to post as big a target as possible, considering the lack of fight from the support bowlers. England, meanwhile, look for some quick wickets to launch a comeback.
Leeds Weather Report for Monday (23 June)
As per AccuWeather, a morning shower is possible, but largely the weather is expected to be cloudy and sunny in parts. The temperatures are expected to dip below 20 degrees Celsius, which means swing bowling can come into play.
