England vs India Test Highlights, Day 4: England 21/0 at stumps after being set 371 to win by India

Zak Crawley (12*) and Ben Duckett (9*) are off to a decent start, with the former smacking back-to-back boundaries off Mohammed Siraj to signal his intent to dominate the Indian attack after falling cheaply before stumps on Day 2.

Ravindra Jadeja is handed the ball for the final over of the day and he concedes three singles, leaving England needing 350 to win on the final day of what has been brilliant opening Test at Headingley so far with all 10 wickets intact and all four results possible.

Prasidh Krishna is the last Indian batter to be dismissed, going for a wild slog towards deep midwicket off Shoaib Bashir’s bowling with Josh Tongue pulling off an excellent catch near the midwicket boundary.

Ravindra Jadeja adds some valuable runs after Tongue’s triple-wicket maiden, smashing the pacer for a six and a four to take India past 360. Krishna could have opted to play it safe and allow Jadeja to take the risks at the other end. Then again, the Indian pace department will be itching to get a crack at the English top-order shortly before stumps. IND 364 all out; lead by 370

That’s tea on Day 4 at Headingley, and India are firmly in control. The visitors head into the break at 298/4 in 75 overs, with a strong lead of 304 runs. KL Rahul remains unbeaten on 120, while Karun Nair is on 5.

The session belonged to India thanks to Rishabh Pant’s entertaining 118, which helped further stretch the lead and take the pressure off. England managed to remove Pant just before tea but India remain in the driver’s seat for now.
