Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians, WPL 2025 final TOSS: Delhi Capitals win the toss, and skipper Meg Lanning opts to field. While Mumbai Indians retain the XI that defeated Gujarat Giants by 47 runs, the Capitals make one change – bringing left-arm spinner Nallapureddy Charani in place of pacer Titas Sadhu.
Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians, WPL 2025 final LIVE Score: Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Meg Lanning will be hoping to add a Women’s Premier League (WPL) title to her chock-a-block trophy cabinet when her side faces inaugural champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the final of the third season at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium on Saturday.
Lanning, who led Australia to victory in T20 World Cups (2018, 2020 and 2023) along with the 2022 World Cup, is yet to win the WPL as captain. The Capitals had finished runners-up in the first two seasons, losing to MI in the inaugural edition in 2023 and the Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) the following year.
They qualified for their third straight final after finishing level on 10 points with MI, their superior Net Run Rate (+0.396) ensuring they gained entry into the final without having to play the Eliminator.
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians had been denied a direct entry into the summit clash after suffering an 11-run loss in a high-scoring game against defending champions RCB, who finished at the fourth spot with three wins and five losses.
MI outplayed Gujarat Giants by 47 runs, thanks to Hayley Matthews and Nat Sciver-Brunt’s heroics, to setup a rematch of the 2023 final with DC. For the Ashleigh Gardner-led GG, it was the first time they made it to the WPL playoffs after finishing with the wooden spoon in the previous seasons.
