As per a report in the Times of India, the latest FIR against Dayal was lodged at the Sanganer Sadar police station in Jaipur under Section 64 of the new penal code BNS and relevant sections of the Posco Act. If found guilty, Dayal could be sentenced to a minimum jail term of 10 years.
Yash Dayal accused of rapy by minor
The complaint states that Dayal, a fast bowler representing IPL-winning side RCB, raped the survivor—who was 17 at the time—first in 2023 and again in a Jaipur hotel this April.
“It is alleged that around two years ago, when the complainant was a minor, he raped her on multiple occasions after offering to help build her cricket career,” SHO Anil Kumar Jaiman of Sanganer Sadar police station said.
“This year, he contacted her again when he was in Jaipur on IPL duty, called her to his hotel, and allegedly raped her there.”
A senior police officer told the daily that a case was filed promptly after the survivor came forward to report multiple instances of alleged sexual assault dating back to 2023. The police investigators are working on the case and will record a detailed statement soon.
Meanwhile, the Allahabad High Court has stayed Dayal’s arrest in the alleged sexual exploitation case filed against him in Ghaziabad. The court also asked the police to refrain from any coercive action until the next hearing.
