  • 147 is the target now! Enough? Don't think so. India would fancy themselves to chase this down. The wicket is on the slower side but still a decent one to bat on. Also, there was swing early on for the Indian pacers but will it be available for the hosts' pacers? They need to bowl well though if they are to make a game out of this. Join us for the chase in a bit.
  • The Indian bowling was excellent to begin with. Especially Deepak Chahar, he took three wickets in the Powerplay itself. The spinners though did not have such a great time with the ball as all the three were on the expensive side. Saini too conceded a few but also got two important wickets. All-in-all, Kohli can be happy with the effort by his team.
  • A very good recovery from West Indies. Yes, this score might still be under par but they will be pleased with their effort after the start they got off to. The hosts were inserted and once again their openers did not provide a start. Hetmyer once again failed to make an impact and the home side was struggling at 14 for 3. Pollard, who was promoted up the order and Pooran, then steadied things with a 50-plus run stand. However, just as they started to accelerate, Pooran was dismissed. Pollard too got out at the wrong time, immediately after getting to his half ton. However, a cameo from Powell has seen West Indies finish close to 150.
  • 19.6 A couple to end so West Indies do not get to 150 but an excellent last over for them. 16 from it. Saini bowls a low full toss on middle, Powell hits it down towards long on and takes two. WEST INDIES END WITH 146/6!
  • 19.5 SIX! Second in the over! West Indies finishing on a high here. Not good bowling too. This is on the pads and it is a slower one. Powell was waiting for it. He picks it up and sends it sailing over the square leg fence. 14 from the over so far, a ball to go. A biggie needed to get to 150.
  • 19.4 Another single! Singles won't harm India. Shorter and around off, this is hit through covers for one.
  • 19.3 Bowls a slower one on middle, Powell is a touch early in the swing. He gets an inside edge onto the pads. The ball goes towards short third man. A single taken.
  • 19.2 SIX! No problem with finding the middle this time. That is nailed! Yes, it is a full toss but we have seen batters struggle to hit full tosses bowled by Saini. Powell though powers it over the mid-wicket fence.
  • 19.1 Powell just is not able to connect at the moment! This is a slower one outside off, Powell looks to heave but misses.
  • Navdeep Saini is back into the attack.
  • 18.6 SIX! Once again the last ball spoils the over and a welcome biggie for West Indies. Kumar goes full and on off, Allen drags it towards long on. He connects well and it goes over the fence. 130/6
  • 18.5 On the bounce to the fielder! Shorter and on off, Powell hits it hard towards wide long on. Pandya moves there and takes it on the bounce. A single.
  • 18.4 A couple now! Outside off, Powell smashes it back past the bowler. Pandya at long on runs to his left but fumbles. The ball, luckily for him, goes to long off and the batters take two.
  • 18.3 Three dots in a row! Kumar goes for a yorker but ends up bowling a full toss. It is hit to covers.
  • 18.2 Another dot! Gold dust at this stage! This is shorter and outside off, Powell looks to pull but gets an inside edge towards the keeper.
  • 18.1 Swing and a miss! This is outside off and on a fuller length. Powell looks to go big but misses.
  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back on!
  • 17.6 A quick single to end! This is on the pads, Powell works it towards short fine leg for a single. So a strong comeback by the bowler, just the 8 from it in the end and also a wicket. 121/6
  • 17.5 Just a single! Slightly shorter around off, this is hit down to long on for one.
  • 17.4 A flighted ball outside off, Allen looks to hit it over cover but misses.
  • 17.3 Flatter and on off, this is kept out.
  • Fabian Allen is the new batsman in.
  • 17.2 OUT! Brathwaite holes out! Chahar has the last laugh. He bowls this one flatter again but this is slightly fuller around off, it is the leg spinner. Brathwaite looks to drag it over long on but does not get the distance as it is off the toe-end. Sundar at long on takes a simple catch. FIRST T20I WICKET FOR RAHUL CHAHAR. It is of the opposition skipper.
  • 17.1 SIX! Welcome back into the attack, Rahul Chahar. A half-track this one, a hit-me ball. Short and on middle, Brathwaite goes back and pulls it over the mid-wicket fence. Six to start the over, pressure on the bowler.
  • Rahul Chahar is back!
  • 16.6 Another single to end! A brilliant 17th by Krunal. This is flatter and on off, Brathwaite pushes it through covers for one. 113/5
  • 16.5 A full toss which is fired outside off. Powell lofts it over covers. Does not get the timing right and a single is taken.
  • 16.4 A single this time as Carlos hits it down to long off.
  • 16.3 On the stumps again, CB pushes it to covers.
  • 16.2 Flatter and on middle, Powell looks to swing but it goes off the inner half through square leg for one.
  • 16.1 This is floated up on off, Brathwaite pushes it down to long off for one.
  • 15.6 Confusion but safe! Shorter and around off, Powell guides it through backward point. The batters take two. The fielder from third man gets across and makes a wild throw towards the bowler. Powell feels he can take another as the ball rolls towards mid on. CB is not interested and sends him back. The fielder has a shy at the striker's end but Powell is in. End of an eventful over. 108/5
  • 15.5 Brathwaite is off the mark. A full toss on middle, this is hit down to long on for one.
  • Carlos Brathwaite is the new batsman in.
  • 15.4 OUT! TIMBER! Excellent, excellent delivery to get the big man. He falls after getting to his fifty. Needed something special to get Pollard and Saini delivers it. He has been bowling really fast till now and now bowls a slower one on middle. Pollard is completely deceived. He ends up playing all around it. Misses and the middle stump is hit. Big wicket this, can easily make a difference of 20 runs to the final total.
  • 15.3 On a good length on middle, Pollard looks to pull but gets hit on the thigh pad.
  • 15.2 Length delivery on middle, Powell nudges it towards square leg for a run.
  • 15.1 FOUR! Amazing shot. Saini bowls a short delivery, Powell pulls it over mid-wicket for a boundary.
  • 14.6 A single which brings up the ton for West Indies. Powell pushes it towards cover for one. 16 from the over. A few more in the last 5 like this one is what West Indies would love. 100/4
  • 14.5 Shorter and on middle, Pollard works it through mid-wicket.
  • 14.4 SIX! That is colossal! Very full which means in the zone of Pollard. He lofts it over the bowler's head and it goes way behind the ropes. Second biggie in the over.
  • 14.3 Floats it up on off, Powell strokes it down to long off for one.
  • 14.2 It's been lofted over mid on by the batsman. One run added to the total.
  • 14.1 SIX! Easy-peasy! Fifty for Pollard and he gets there with a biggie. He has been the in-form batter for West Indies and he has risen to the occasion here as well. Third T20I fifty. First half century for Pollard in seven years. He gets a freebie to get there. A full toss on the pads, Pollard flicks it over the mid-wicket fence. He needs to stay there till the end.
  • 13.6 A slower one to end. It is on the pads, Pollard looks to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. It rolls on the leg side. Leg bye taken. A successful over for India comes to an end. 84/4
  • 13.5 NOT OUT! Going down leg! He is not dismissed of a full toss for now. India also lose their only review. Saini bowls this on the pads, Pollard looks to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. An appeal but the umpire shakes his head. India review. Replays show no inside edge but the ball to be missing the leg pole.
  • Is Pollard dismissed on a full toss yet again? India have reviewed as an appeal for an LBW has been turned down. If no inside edge, it could be close.
  • 13.4 Top edge but safe! A slower bumper on middle, Powell looks to pull but does not get on top of the bounce. A top edge is induced which lands safe on the leg side for one.
  • 13.3 On the shorter side around off, Pollard pulls it through square leg and a single is taken.
  • 13.2 Powell is off the mark! Back of a length ball on off, it straightens a touch. RP looks to defend but it goes off the outside edge down to third man for one.
  • Rovman Powell is the next batsman in. He played a good knock in the last game and something similar will be expected of him.
  • 13.1 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! The bowling change works wonders for the visitors. Saini strikes on the first ball of his new spell. The dangerous stand has been cut short. Timely wicket as the two were looking to cut loose. Saini bowls this on a length and around off, it is angled away. Pooran looks to force it on the off side but gets an outside edge. Pant takes it nicely by diving to his left.
  • Navdeep Saini is back!
  • 12.6 Another low full toss on off, not easy to hit those. Pooran whips it towards deep mid-wicket for one. Just the 7 from the over. 80/3
  • 12.5 Floats it up on middle, Pollard works it down to long on for one.
  • 12.4 Clever bowling! Sees Pooran moves across and fires in a low full toss on the pads, Pooran works it through square leg for one.
  • 12.3 Flatter and on middle, this is hit down to long on for one.
  • 12.2 Pooran shuffles across and smashes it down towards long on. It does not go to the fence as Pandey moves to his right and keeps it down to one.
  • 12.2 WIDE! Slower but way too wide outside off. Pooran lets it be. Wided.
  • 12.1 This is eased down to long on for one.
  • 11.6 A dot to end! Shorter and angled into the batter. Pooran looks to pull but gets an inside edge onto the pads. Only 8 from it despite going for a boundary. 73/3
  • 11.5 A single now as KP works it through the leg side. He moves into the 40s.
  • 11.4 Played through mid-wicket by the batsman.
  • 11.3 FOUR! Raining boundaries here at the moment! The slog sweep is out this time. Pollard gets it in the gap in the mid-wicket region and bags another boundary.
  • 11.3 WIDE! Down the leg side, Pollard looks to sweep it fine but misses. Wided.
  • 11.2 Looks to be innovative! Brings out the reverse sweep but hits it towards point. The fielder fumbles and a run is taken.
  • 11.1 Flatter and on middle, this is pushed down to long on for one.
  • 10.6 SIX! The fifty-run stand is brought up in style. Very, very important one and they have got West Indies back on track here. Need to continue though. Also, the last ball spoils the over. This is outside off and full. Pooran swings, it goes high but also has the distance. First six for Pooran. 65/3
  • 10.5 Pooran comes down the track now but yorks himself. He jams it out to the right of the bowler. Pandya moves there and saves a single.
  • 10.4 Well bowled! Slows it up and bowls it wide outside off, he wanted Pooran to drag his shot. NP lets it be.
  • 10.3 Fires this wide outside off again, Pollard hits it through covers this time for one.
  • 10.2 Pollard misses out there! Pandya bowls a full toss around off, Pollard smashes it hard to covers where Rahul makes a good stop.
  • 10.1 Fuller and outside off, Pollard hits it hard to the man at covers.
  • Krunal Pandya is on now!
  • 9.6 A single to end an expensive over! 25 from the last two. Sundar fires this on middle, Pollard pushes it down to long on for one. 58/3
  • 9.5 Nicely bowled! Slows it up a little and lands it on middle, this one turns back in. Pollard looks to put bat on ball but it hits the inside edge and then onto the pads.
  • 9.4 Flighted ball outside off, Pooran too plays it sensibly as he strokes it through covers for one.
  • 9.3 Sensible batting! Already a big over this, there need not be any risk taken. Pollard nicely works this on the leg side and takes one.
  • 9.3 WIDE! This is down the leg side, Pollard looks to flick but misses. Wided.
  • 9.2 A couple now! This is flatter and on the pads, Pollard works it through square leg for two.
  • 9.1 SIX! Pollard is dealing in maximums here. This is very full and on middle, Pollard lofts it easily and he clears the long on fence. Once again a biggie to start the over.
  • 8.6 A single to end! A top over for West Indies. This is on middle, Pollard pushes it towards mid on for one. 46/3
  • 8.5 SIX! This ball though spoils the over! Second biggie of it. Another tossed up ball and it is very full again. Pollard once again plays it with a straight bat and lofts it. It is not off the middle but such is the power of the man that it goes all the way over long off.
  • 8.4 On off again, Pollard guides it to point. This is a good comeback by the bowler after going for a biggie on the first ball.
  • 8.3 Flatter and on off, Pollard keeps it out.
  • 8.2 Good field placement! This is shorter and around off, Pollard powers it down towards a fielder who is very straight. No runs.
  • 8.1 SIX! That is right in the zone for Pollard! Very full and on middle, he loves it there. Just lofts it nonchalantly over the bowler's head for a biggie. Good start to the over but West Indies need to make this count.
  • 7.6 Three dots in a row to end another good over for India. This is flatter and around off, the batsman goes back and pushes it to covers. 33/3
  • 7.5 Another dot! This tossed up ball is hit to the man at covers.
  • 7.4 On the stumps, Pooran pushes it back to the bowler.
  • 7.3 Shorter and on off, this is pushed down to long on for one.
  • 7.3 Down the leg side, Pollard looks to sweep but misses. Pant does well to move to his left and does well to stop it. Not cleanly but still a good effort.
  • 7.2 Flatter and on off, Pollard defends it out.
  • 7.1 Flatter and outside off, this is slapped through covers for one.
  • Washington Sundar is on now!
  • 6.6 A googly to end on middle, Pollard defends it out. 30/3
  • 6.5 Shorter and outside off, Pooran cuts it through point and takes one.
  • 6.4 Shorter and outside off, this one skids through. Pooran is a touch late in his pull shot. Gets beaten.
  • 6.3 On the pads this time, Pooran looks to flick but misses. The ball brushes the pads and goes down to fine leg. Two taken. Leg byes signaled.
  • 6.2 EDGY FOUR! Welcome boundary for West Indies. This is flatter and around off, Pooran looks to punch it through covers. The ball goes off the outside edge, past the slip fielder and down to the third man fence.
  • 6.1 Flatter and around off, Pollard drags it down to long on for one. A little turn for the bowler there.
  • Rahul Chahar, the debutant, is on now!
  • 5.6 A dot to end another good over from Chahar! Also, end of a brilliant Powerplay for India. West Indies are 22 for 3 after the first 6. This is outside off, left alone. 22/3
  • 5.5 This is on off, Pollard looks to whip it but it goes off the inner half through mid-wicket for one.

  • 4.5 Shorter and on off, Pooran defends it out.
  • 4.4 Fuller and on off, Pooran strokes it to covers.
  • 4.3 A single to follow the biggie! Good batting! Shorter and on middle, Pollard works it through mid-wicket for one.
  • 4.2 SIX! All the way! That is some way to get off the mark! Full and on off, Pollard stretches his hand and lofts it over the long off fence.
  • 4.1 Goes fuller and on off, no swing for him on his first ball. Pollard looks to drive it to mid off but it goes off the inner half to mid on.
  • Navdeep Saini is back on. He has been good in the series so far. Can he continue the same?
  • 3.6 A dot to end another excellent over! Just the single and two wickets from the over. This is outside off, Pooran lets it be. 14/3
  • Nicholas Pooran is the new man in.
  • 3.5 OUT! Another one bites the dust! Chahar is running havoc here with his swing. Another inswinging ball does the trick. This starts around off and middle and it shapes back in late. Hetmyer too fails to adjust to the movement as he looks to drive. He ends up playing outside the line. The ball hits the pads. An appeal and the umpire has his finger up. No reviews left so Hetmyer has to walk back. Three down within the Powerplay and not many teams win the game after losing that many wickets in the first 6.
  • 3.4 Now gets this one to shape back in but the line is a little too straight. Pollard looks to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. The ball rolls on the leg side and a single is taken. Leg bye signaled.

  • Keiron Pollard is the next batsman in. He has been promoted up the order.
  • 3.1 OUT! Three reds and that is plumb in front! Absolutely no doubt about that. Not sure why Lewis reviewed that, not sure why Hetmyer let him review that. Another low score by Lewis. Chahar gets his second and he is on fire at the moment. West Indies have lost another one and they are in deep trouble. Chahar starts this outside off and this one comes back in late. Lewis walks across and then tries to adjust to the swing as he looks to flick. He misses and gets hit on the pads. An appeal and the finger is lifted. Lewis reviews. Replays roll in and they show that the ball is hitting the middle of middle. Lewis has to walk back and he takes West Indies' only review with him.
  • Lewis has been given out LBW! He reviews. Looks out though.
  • 2.6 On the pads, once again, Lewis nudges it around the corner and gets to the other end. 9 from the over. A good one for West Indies. 13/1
  • 2.5 A little too straight again, Hetmyer works it through backward square leg for a single.
  • 2.4 Three now! This is on the pads, Lewis works it through mid-wicket. Due to the slow outfield, it does not go to the fence. Three taken.
  • 2.3 FOUR! Poor ball and put away! First boundary of the innings. This is short and on the pads, Lewis swivels and pulls it behind square. The ball races away to the fence.
  • 2.2 Back of a length around off, Lewis pushes it to covers.
  • 2.1 Angles this one across the batter from off. Lewis guides it to point.
  • 1.6 OHHH! Lovely, lovely bowling! This starts on off and then comes back in late. Hetmyer looks to flick but gets an inside edge onto the pads. Two extremely good overs by India to begin with. 4/1
  • Shimron Hetmyer is the next batsman in.
  • 1.5 OUT! In the air... taken! Deepak Chahar makes an impact straightaway! Sunil Narine fails to make an impact once again. The ploy to open with him does not work in both the games. Early strike for India, just the start they would have wanted. This is slightly shorter and around off, Narine looks to drag it over mid on but does not time it. Saini there takes a good low catch diving to his right.
  • 1.4 This one swings the other way! The line though was a little too straight. Narine is late on the flick and gets hit on the pads.
  • 1.3 Goes outside off again and fuller. Narine looks to drive but is beaten. Chahar feels there is an edge and he is a little excited but nothing from the umpire. The noise was of the bat hitting the ground.
  • 1.2 A couple now! This is full and outside off, Narine reaches out for it. The ball goes off the bottom over the in-field. The ball bounces and stops due to the damp outfield. Two taken.
  • 1.1 Good length and around off, Lewis guides it down to third man and takes one.
  • Deepak Chahar to bowl from the other end. We saw Bhuvneshwar Kumar get swing. Will Deepak Chahar get the same?
  • 0.6 A dot to end a top class first over! Around off and shaping away once again. Narine looks to defend but does not put bat to ball. 1/0
  • 0.5 Beaten all ends up! Once again the swing causes trouble. This starts on middle and then moves away a long way. Narine looks to work it on the leg side but is beaten by the away movement.
  • 0.4 A single! Lewis is off the mark! Shorter and on middle, Lewis pushes it towards mid on and takes off. The fielder has a shy at the non-striker's end but misses. He would have been in though.
  • 0.3 Another lovely delivery! This starts on off and this one shapes away a long way. Lewis feels for it but gets beaten. The ball does not carry to Rishabh Pant.
  • 0.2 Once again some swing again! This is around off and shapes away. Lewis goes back and keeps it out.
  • 0.1 Some swing for Kumar. This lands around off and shapes away. Lewis watches it go to the keeper.
  • The rain has stopped and we are starting on time! The umpires make their way out to the middle and the Indian team is now in a huddle near the boundary line. They now make their way out to the middle. They are followed by the West Indian openers, Evin Lewis and Sunil Narine. The latter will take strike and he will face Bhuvneshwar Kumar who has the new ball in hand. Here we go...
  • Well, the players should have been getting ready by now to start the game but the drizzle is back on. However, there is only one cover out there which is covering the main pitch. Let us hope it is just a passing shower.
  • WEST INDIES (PLAYING XI) - Sunil Narine, Evin Lewis, Nicholas Pooran (WK), Kieron Pollard, Shimron Hetmyer, Carlos Brathwaite (C), Rovman Powell, Keemo Paul, Sheldon Cottrell, Oshane Thomas, Fabian Allen (IN FOR KHARY PIERRE).

  • West Indian skipper, Carlos Brathwaite, says the toss is always important but now they need to do well. Further adds they did well in the second game especially with the bat. States they need to keep their positive intent going but also need to turn those dot balls into singles. Mentions his main focus is setting good standards on or off the field.
  • Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, says the wicket has been under the covers, it looks damp so they want to make use of the new ball and also the stop start might make it difficult for the batters to get going. Further adds Rohit is resting, so someone needed to lead and hence, he is playing. Mentions there are a few new faces. Informs KL Rahul, Rahul Chahar and Deepak Chahar are playing.
  • TOSS - Up goes the coin and it lands in the favor of India AGAIN! They will bowl first!
  • It is time for the third T20I between West Indies and India. It is basically a dead rubber but India will be eager for a whitewash. West Indies on the other hand, will look to salvage some pride with a win. Will the change in format bring a change of fortunes for the hosts? We will find out in a bit. • DEEPAK CHAHAR HAS BEEN NAMED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. Stay tuned with us as we hear both the captains' thoughts and find out who is our Player of the Series of this 3-game T20I series.
  • India's hero with the ball today, Deepak Chahar is now down for an interview with Murali Kartik. Deepak Chahar says that the atmosphere was good to bowl and if there was swing he was looking to bowl up the pitch. Informs that he came to know that he would bowl with the new ball after coming onto the field as Washington Sundar bowled with it in the first 2 T20Is. Deepak says that the one that comes in to the left-hander is a very crucial ball. Further adds that the ball was not moving away much to the southpaws but it was coming in a lot more. Chahar feels that the ball that comes in troubles the batsmen more as that brings lbw, caught and bowled all into play. Chahar tells that in practice he uses the old ball as that helps him in games if there is no swing. Chahar though admits that the ball does not swing after the second or third over.
  • Earlier in the day after a delayed start, India won the toss and opted to bowl. The hosts got off to a brilliant start with the ball picking up early wickets. West Indies though managed to reach a respectable total of 146, courtesy of Pollard who scored a crucial 50. Deepak Chahar was India's star with the ball picking up 3 wickets and giving away just 4 runs in his 3 overs.
  • Nothing much to say about the West Indies bowling. Only two bowlers were in the wickets column, Oshane Thomas with two and Allen with one. The latter was economical too but the rest all were expensive given the context of the game. Overall, the bowling was just not good enough to restrict India under this below-par total.
  • Easy-peasy run chase for India. They hardly ever looked in trouble. Yes, they lost both their openers early but skipper, Kohli and the young Rishabh Pant steadied the ship and then upped the ante when required. Though the skipper departed before the final hurdle, Pant stayed there till the end and ensured that there was no hiccup.
