  • So, 280 is the target for West Indies to chase to get their 1st win against this touring Indian side. Will they chase this down or will India get another one over the hosts? Join us in a while to find out.
  • As for West Indies' bowling, Brathwaite was the star. He picked up 3 wickets though he gave away 53 runs from his quota of 10 overs. The bowler who was the most impressive was Roston Chase. He kept the run flow at bay and ensured that West Indies tightened the screws in the middle overs, finishing with 37/1 in his 10 overs. Cottrell and Holder were the other two bowlers who got into the wickets column with one a piece. Thomas though had very poor day with the ball.
  • After opting to bat, India were off to a horrible start as they lost Shikhar Dhawan in the very first over itself. But then walked skipper, Virat Kohli a.k.a, King Kohli. He was on it from the word go and he first put up a 74-run stand with Rohit Sharma where Virat was the aggressor. But once Sharma departed Pant too followed the suit. It looked like there would be another collapse but Kohli along with the returning, Shreyas Iyer steadied the ship and added a stupendous 125-run stand for the 4th wicket. Kohli got to his 42nd hundred in the process while Shreyas got to his 3rd ODI fifty. It looked like India would reach a score close to 300 but once Kohli was dismissed, rain followed him soon enough and that slight delay brought in a lapse of concentration and India kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They could muster just 29 runs off the last 5 overs and ended up with a score of below 285.
  • Brilliant comeback from the West Indies bowlers. Just 7 off the last over and 29/3 in the last 5 overs has seen them restrict India to well under 300.
  • 49.6 Back of a length ball on off, Shami pulls it wide of deep mid-wicket and gets a couple. The fielder has a shy at the keeper's end but Shami is quick to cover his ground. INDIA FINISH WITH 279/7 IN THEIR 50 OVERS!
  • 49.5 Slower ball on a length, Jadeja swings his bat at it but the ball arrives late. It takes the bottom edge of his bat and goes towards third man for one.
  • 49.4 Short ball on off, Jadeja pulls it towards deep mid-wicket but does not take the run.
  • 49.3 Fuller on off, Jadeja lofts it over mid-wicket. Wide of the man in the deep and gets a couple.
  • 49.3 WIDE! Slower ball way outside off. On the wrong side of the tramline. Jadeja leaves it alone. The umpire waits and then after a while signals it as wide.
  • 49.2 BYES! Smart bowling this. Takes the pace off and bowls it on a length outside off, Shami swings at it but misses. They take the run as the ball goes to the keeper. Hope throws it back towards the bowler but Shami is well in.

The umpire goes upstairs and replays show Kedar is short of his crease.
  • Run out appeal taken upstairs.
  • 46.3 Full toss on middle and leg, Jadeja does not make the most of it. He looks to flick but it goes off the inner half of his bat towards short fine leg for one.
  • 46.2 Taps this down to third man and gets to the other end to follow up the boundary.

  • Ravindra Jadeja is the new man in.
  • 45.3 OUT! Bowled! This is very clever bowling from the West Indian skipper. After bowling two balls away of the off stump. Iyer assumes this one to also be there so he shuffles across. Holder outfoxes him and bowls it full on the leg stump, Shreyas is too far across and he misses his flick. The ball goes onto disturb the leg pole. End of a very good knock from the young Mumbaikar.
