  • Apart from being a bit slow, there isn't much in this pitch. The start initially against the two new balls will be crucial as in the middle phase, timing the shots will be a bit difficult. It's a modest target on the board but Bangladesh would like to approach carefully. Let's see whether West Indies challenge them this time around with the ball or not. Do join us in a short while.
  • Earlier, it was Jason Holder's call to bat first and his openers provided a decent start. But soon West Indies found themselves in a precarious situation after losing their top four for only 99 runs. Mehidy and Shakib bowled brilliantly in the middle overs to never allow West Indies off the hook and then the old gun, Mashrafe Mortaza picked the prized wickets of Shai Hope and Jason Holder to peg the opposition back furthermore. Mustafizur Rahman also found some form and finished with a 4-wicket haul.
  • Terrific bowling performance by Bangladesh! They have restricted West Indies under 250. Once again the major contribution came from one of the top order batsmen but apart from him, there wasn't much fight shown by the middle order. Jason Holder's century partnership with Shai Hope put the Caribbean team on track for a score close to 300 but the Bangla Tigers roared back in the last 10 overs to dismiss both the set batsmen. The desired finish never came for the team in maroon and they managed a below-par total only.
  • 49.6 Outside off, Roach hammers this down the ground. Jayed rushes to his left to stop the ball but it hits his shin and deflects towards mid-wicket. The batsmen take a run. 11 from the final over as West Indies finish 3 shy of 250.
  • 49.5 Backs away to the leg side again and swings cleaner this time, but ironically, this is just a single as this one goes to deep mid-wicket. A run taken.
  • 49.4 SIX! It is a top edge but the Men in Maroon will not care. They are edging closer to that 250-mark. A short ball, around middle, following the batsman as he backs away, Cottrell swings hard and the top edge flies over long leg!
  • 49.3 The batsman fails to get bat on that one and is hit on the pad. Leg bye given by the umpire.
  • 49.2 Around middle and off, heaved towards deep mid-wicket for a single.
  • 49.1 Around off, Roach hops across and defends.
  • Abu Jayed to bowl the final over. 8-0-46-0 so far.
  • 48.6 How did that miss the leg stump? A length ball, outside leg, Cottrell gives himself room and swings hard, only to miss. The ball just misses the leg stump by a whisker. The difference between a Michelle and a 4-fer for the Fizz. 9-1-43-4 today. 236/9
  • Sheldon Cottrell is the last man in. Will the West Indies be able to play out their full quota? One ball left for the Fizz to take a fifer.
  • 48.5 OUT! LBW! Wicket number 4 for Mustafizur. Full and straight, swinging in, Reifer plays all around that, looking to flick but misses and is hit on the pads. Mustafizur appeals and up goes the finger. That looked dead plumb.
  • STAT ALERT - Mushfiqur Rahim reached 300 catches in international cricket when he held one to dismiss Shai Hope. Kudos to the Bangladeshi legend!
  • 48.4 Outside off, guided towards third man for one.
  • 48.3 Full and around middle, flicked uppishly towards wide long on for a run.
  • Kemar Roach walks in at number 10, with 10 balls left in the game...
  • 48.2 OUT! Caught! Not what the doctor ordered the nurse to do. A length ball, around off, Ashley has a heave-ho but mistimes it. The ball goes high in the air but there is not much strength in it. Simple catch for Sabbir Rahman in the deep at mid-wicket.
  • 48.1 Full on middle, flicked uppishly over mid-wicket for a single.
  • 47.6 Around off, pushed watchfully towards cover. 10-0-60-3 so far. 233/7
  • 47.5 Comes down the track and has a heave-ho, mistiming his punch towards long off for a run.
  • 47.4 Comes down the track, aiming to force the issue but is nowhere near the pitch of the ball. Swings hard but misses. The ball goes off his pads towards the leg side and a leg bye is taken. Or probably not. No signal from the umpire.
  • 47.3 On a length, outside off, Reifer taps it towards point and takes a quick single. Bangladesh will not mind these at this stage...
  • 47.2 Another flick, another run.
  • 47.1 Down the leg side, helped through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 46.6 FOUR! Off the top edge. Another short ball in this over, something which Bangladesh are constantly trying. And beating the West Indies batsmen for pace. This is around middle, Nurse looks to pull but is cramped for room. Gets a top edge which flies towards the fine leg fence. 228/7
  • 46.5 Good bounce off the deck, Raymon looks to fend a short delivery but awkwardly pushes it to the off side and takes a quick single.
  • 46.4 A short ball once more, pulled again, but this time connecting with thin air.
  • 46.3 A short ball, pulled towards deep mid-wicket for a run.
  • 46.2 An extra run. A bye. Slower ball, outside off, Reifer looks to defend but the ball comes in, beats the inside edge and lands in front of the keeper. Rahim is a touch surprised and cannot quite collect the ball. It deflects to his right and the batsmen take a single.
  • 46.1 A short ball, outside off, pulled powerfully through square leg. Mehidy Hasan gives it a good chase from deep mid-wicket and keeps the batsmen to a single.
  • The Fizz is back.
  • 45.6 Miscommunication but all okay in the end. Outside off, Nurse looks to punch it through the off side but gets a bottom edge behind. Now, Nurse does not want the single but Reifer calls him through. Rahim charges in and has an under-arm shy at the striker's end as the batsmen eventually go through. Misses the stumps but Reifer is well in. Rahim should have gone for the stumps at the bowler's end... 220/7
  • 45.5 Another single eked out to the leg side.
  • 45.4 Gets across and plays a Nataraja pull shot, that is with his left leg raised in the air, towards fine leg for a single.
  • 45.3 Down the leg side, Ashley looks to tuck but misses and is hit on the pads. Another couple of runs to the total, this time as leg byes.
  • 45.2 Around middle and leg, tucked through square leg for a brace.
  • 45.1 A short ball, Nurse heaves it through mid-wicket for a couple.
  • 44.6 The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground. Shakib ends a brilliant bowling performance from him with figures of 10-1-27-1!!! 211/7
  • 44.5 Outside off, played straight to point.
  • Raymon Reifer walks in.
  • 44.4 OUT! LBW! Allen is a dead duck. Tossed up, around middle, Allen looks to defend but misses a straight ball and is hit on the pads. Looks out the moment the ball hits the pad and umpire Kettleborough agrees. Two wickets in as many overs, Bangladesh might well be chasing under 250 now...
  • 44.3 FOUR! Positive stroke. Full and around off, Allen gets down and sweeps this behind square leg for a boundary!
  • 44.2 The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
  • 44.1 Around middle and leg, watchfully worked towards short mid-wicket.
  • Ashley Nurse walks in.
  • 43.6 OUT! Caught behind! 'Mash' has struck. The Windies are losing their way here. A length ball, outside off, Holder has a loose waft, aiming to punch it through the off side but there is no feet movement, hence an outside edge results. Simple catch for Rahim. Big wicket for Bangladesh. 250 looks difficult now. 207/6
  • 43.5 Around middle and leg, Holder misses his flick and is hit on the pads. Mortaza appeals but the umpire is unmoved...
  • 43.4 Full and outside off, driven through mid off for a run.
  • 43.3 Outside off, punched off the back foot.
  • 43.2 Around off, watchfully defended.
  • 43.2 WIDE. Sprays this down the leg side, Allen misses his flick.
  • 43.1 A length ball outside off, worked towards long on for a single.
  • 42.6 Presses forward and drives it through covers for a run. 204/5
  • 42.5 Defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
  • 42.4 Driven towards the mid off region. They pick up a single.
  • 42.3 Flatter and on off, punched down to long on for a run.
  • 42.2 Tries to flick across the line but it takes the inner half of his blade and rolls behind square leg for one.
  • 42.1 Driven through mid on by the batsman. They pick up a single.
  • Fabian Allen is the next batsman.
  • 41.6 OUT! Big breakthrough for Bangladesh and Shai Hope misses out on his third hundred in the series. The change in angle has worked for Mashrafe. He delivers a shortish delivery outside off, Hope stays back to pull it across the line but the ball stays a bit low to take the under edge and Rahim makes no mistake behind the stumps. Top knock from Shai is over! 300th international catch for Rahim. 199/5
  • 41.5 100-run stand comes up! Full and around off, angling away from 'round the wicket, Holder drives it down to long off for one.
  • 41.4 SIX! A nicely timed shot down the ground. A length ball in the line of the stumps, Holder lines up behind it and lofts it cleanly over the bowler's head for a biggie.
  • 41.3 Fifty for Holder, his 8th in ODIs! Mortaza angles in a length ball on middle, Holder heaves it over mid-wicket and returns for the second run. Handy knock by the West Indian skipper.
  • 41.2 Full this time, outside off, drilled to sweeper cover for a couple of runs.
  • Jason Holder has broken the bottom of his bat. He immediately calls for a new one and one of the reserve players comes in with it.
  • 41.1 Slower one, a dipping full toss around off, Holder goes hard at it and mishits it off the inside edge to wide of long on. Good enough for a couple of runs.
  • Mashrafe Mortaza comes back into the attack now! Meanwhile, we see a handful of Bangladeshi fans enjoying themselves in the stands.
  • 40.6 Skidding into the batsman, Holder strokes it down to long on for another run to end the over. 186/4
  • 40.5 Gets behind the line of the delivery and punches it to long on for one.
  • 40.4 On a good length outside off, Holder eases it past the cover fielder for a single.
  • 40.3 Loopy and full on off, Hope goes inside-out and lofts it towards long off. Will get just a run.
  • 40.2 Walks down the track and forces it down to long on for one.
  • 40.1 Driven through the covers by the batsman. They pick up a single.
  • Time for Powerplay 3! West Indies will look for quick runs now but they will have to contend with 5 fielders outside the circle till the end of the innings.
  • 39.6 Stands tall inside the crease to a short ball and hits it through point for one. 8 from the over. 180/4 are the West Indies will 60 legal deliveries left. 180/4
  • 39.5 FOUR! Easily done! All he needed to do was to find the gap. Short and wide ball outside off, Hope goes on his toes and steers it through the gap between point and third man.
  • 39.4 This time Shai gets bat on ball. The length is a bit short and around off, Hope stands back and slaps it down to long on and scampers across for a couple of runs. Rahim is heard screaming something maybe in Bangla and my colleague feels that he is irritated there as the fielder in the deep was very lazy in releasing the ball from the deep. Could have been a run out had the throw been sharp at the bowler's end.
  • 39.3 Play and a miss! Slower one outside off, angling away from the batsman, Hope sits down on one knee and tries to play the slog sweep but misses. Doesn't matter how set you are, Rahman has this knack of beating any batsman with his variations.
  • 39.2 Back of a length ball on off, Holder goes on the back foot and punches it square of the wicket on the off side. Looks for the second run but it's not on as the fielder in the deep quickly charge towards the ball.
  • 39.1 Beauty of a delivery! A lovely leg cutter from the Fizz, it's around off and moving away, Holder is opened up in defense and ends up completely missing the ball.
  • 38.6 Flatter on the pads, flicked away behind square on the leg side for a run. Holder keeps strike for the next over. 172/4

  • 38.1 Flatter on off, pushed off the face of the bat towards point.
  • Shakib Al Hasan is back on.
  • 37.6 Pushed to the cover region by the batsman. A decent over other than that big one. 170/4
  • 37.5 Slower ball outside off, Holder looks to put bat on ball and push it through the off side but the ball goes past the bat.
  • 37.4 Flicked towards fine leg for a run this time by Hope. He gets his skipper on strike.
  • 37.3 Back foot defense towards cover.

  • Mustafizur Rahman comes back on.

  • 36.4 Jason flicks this one straight to the mid-wicket fielder.
  • 36.3 Slower on middle, comes ahead does Holder and he defends the ball to the bowler.
  • 36.2 Punched away to long on for a run this time by Shai.
  • 36.1 Flatter one on middle, Hope backs away and crunches this wide of extra-cover. Long off runs to his left and mops it up. Two runs taken!
  • 35.6 Pushed away to deep cover for a single and Hope retains strike. 158/4
  • 35.5 Length on the leg stump line, Holder misses his flick. The ball goes off the thigh pad and drops to the right of the surface. A leg bye is taken.
  • 35.4 Fuller one on middle, driven away to deep cover for a single by Hope.
  • 35.3 On a length outside off, Holder runs it down to third man for a run.
  • 35.2 That has gone through! A length ball on middle, Holder looks to whip it away but the ball keeps slightly low and he misses the ball.
  • 35.1 Pushed uppishly wide of point by Holder. A couple of runs are picked up!
  • DRINKS BREAK! Jason Holder and Shai Hope are in the midst of a lovely stand but need to increase the pace now with just 15 overs left if they want to get anywhere near 300. Meanwhile, Bangladesh will hope that a wicket or two can be picked up when the West Indies batsmen accelerate and that will mean that they can limit their opposition to a small total.
  • 34.6 Driven wide of long off for a run by Holder. Just 4 runs off this over, excellent bowling. 152/4
  • 34.5 Tucked towards mid-wicket.

  • 33.6 Flicked away through mid-wicket for a single by the opening batsman. He keeps strike. 8 runs off this over. 148/4
  • 33.5 Driven hard to mid off but no single can be taken there as the ball goes with good pace to the fielder. The fielder throws wide but the batsmen decide not to run an overthrow.
  • 33.5 Wide! The second extra of the innings! Sprayed down the leg side by Abu, he was the one to bowl the first wide as well.
  • 33.4 Fuller one on the pads, flicked away with timing to deep square leg. Only a single though.
  • 33.3 Fuller one on middle, driven down the ground for a single by SH.
  • 33.2 FOUR! Smacked back down the ground. A length ball outside off, Hope brings out the calypso flair and hits it right past the bowler to his left. Boundary results at long off.
  • 33.1 Fuller one on middle, flicked by Hope but straight to the mid-wicket fielder.
  • 32.6 Too leg side this time and Hope has eased it through square leg for one more run in the over. 140/4
  • 32.5 Turns it wide of mid-wicket and crosses for a run.
  • 32.4 Shout for a caught behind this time, not given again. Tossed up delivery outside off, Holder goes down on one knee to slog it across the line but misses. The keeper collects the ball and appeals but the umpire shows no interest.
  • 32.3 The batsman flicks it away with a wristy shot. They pick up a single.
  • 32.2 Uppish but safe! Flatter delivery on middle, Holder takes a big stride forward as he attempts to flick. But it takes the leading edge and goes in the air towards covers. Mustafizur at cover-point could have put in a dive there but decides not to and collects the ball on one bounce. A single is taken.

  • 31.4 Shortish and on off, helped to mid-wicket.
  • 31.3 Knocks a full ball down through mid on for a run.
  • 31.2 FOUR! Holder is getting a go now! Jayed angles in a full ball on middle, Jason heaves it across the line and times his shot quite well. It flies over wide mid on and Mosaddek (sub) in the deep tries to run across and pull it back. Fails to do so and his momentum takes him beyond the rope and he collides with someone from the team management sitting out there. No harm done to anyone.
  • 31.1 Length ball on off, angling back in, Holder covers the line and pushes it to mid off.
  • Abu Jayed is back on.
  • 30.6 Flicks a full ball with the spin through mid-wicket and takes a run. 129/4
  • 30.5 Floated and full ball on off, Holder pushes it gently through extra cover and straightaway calls for two. Completes it easily.
  • 30.4 Allows the ball to spin back in and easily helps it through mid-wicket for a single.

  • 29.6 In the channel outside off, Holder calmly runs it down to third man and picks up a single. 11 from the over. 124/4
  • 29.5 FOUR! One brings two. Holder says let's move on now. The line is around off and the length is on the shorter side, Holder eases himself on the back foot and powers it over mid-wicket for a boundary.

  • 28.5 Quicker and shorter on middle, Jason goes back to punch it down to long on but mid-wicket intervenes to make the stop.

  • 28.3 Continues to fire it in, Shakib. An arm ball on off, Holder punches it from the back foot to covers.

  • 27.4 Hope has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
  • 27.3 Chance of a run out, MISSED! Holder was gone for all money. The West Indies skipper pushes it a bit aerially towards mid off and Shakib reacts quickly from extra cover. There is a bit of hesitation between the batsmen and then they eventually go for it. The fielder misses his shy at the bowler's end. Holder survives.
  • 27.2 Slower one, on a shortish length around off, Hope taps it down towards backward point for a run. Brings up his 9th fifty in ODIs and continues with his rich form in this tri-series.

  • A short cover in place now.

  • 36.4 On a length outside off, Mahmudullah pushes the ball to the point region.
  • DRINKS BREAK! West Indies have struck just before the break and broken the big stand. Holder and co. give themselves half a chance now but Bangladesh are still well ahead here. Will the Asian team stroll to a win or blow it up? The final phase of the game coming up as Mahmudullah has walked out to join Rahim in the middle.
  • 36.3 OUT! The off stump is knocked back! Is there life in this game still? A good length ball outside off, moves inward after landing and beats the attempted flick shot of Mithun. A slight hint of reverse swing maybe. The stump is uprooted and Mithun has to depart after a really good hand of 43! The partnership of 83 runs is brought to an end. The equation is 58 off 81 now. Can Windies do something?
  • 36.2 Pulled away this time to deep square leg for a run again by Rahim.

  • 34.5 Oooh! Edged but does not carry! A length ball outside off, Rahim looks to chop it down to third man but the ball is too close to the off stump. It goes off the under edge and just bounces a bit ahead of the keeper's glove. The bowler appeals but the umpire has seen that well.
  • 34.4 Quick run but completed with ease. A fuller length ball on middle, driven to mid on by Mithun and he sets off for a run. Reifer there picks the ball but his throw misses the stump at the bowler's end.

  • 32.4 Fuller outside off, Mithun pushes away from the body. The ball flies off the outside half and goes wide of point for a single down to third man for a single.
  • 32.3 Excellent cricket this, a single after the boundary ball. On a length and run down to third man for a single by Rahim. Goes past his score of 32 in the previous game. He was unbeaten then.
  • That shot went so far that it has caused the ball to be lost. We are now looking for a new one...
  • 32.2 SIX! Rahim decides enough is enough. That is a huge hit! A length ball on off, Mushfiqur premeditates and comes down the track before lifting it way over long on. There were no half-measures in that one.

  • 31.3 Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
  • 31.2 Missed chance and FOUR! Roach was too much inside the rope! Reifer could have had his first wicket! A short ball on middle, Mithun pulls this one aerially in front of square leg. Roach in the deep though was way inside the rope and had he stayed back, that ball would have gone straight down his throat. He jumps to try and reach the ball but fails to do so. It bounces inside the rope before going for a four. The 50-run stand comes up between these two with that boundary.
  • 31.1 Reifer bowls this outside off on a length, the ball is run down to third man for a single.
  • 30.6 Yes, it is a maiden! Immaculate line and length from Holder, Mithun pushes it back to the bowler. 153/3

  • 28.3 Outside off, dabbed straight to point.
  • 28.2 Another one down the leg side, Mohammad misses his flick and is hit on the pads. There is a loud appeal, solely from Holder but sadly for him, no one pays any interest. Actually, someone does. My colleague, shaking his head. That was hitting the 8th stump outside leg, if there was such one. A leg bye stolen.
  • 28.1 FOUR! Fourth boundary in the span of 9 balls. Bangladesh are feasting on some complimentary buffets served by the West Indies here. Another poor ball, misdirected down the leg side, on a length, Mithun gets across and tickles it towards the fine leg fence. Less than 100 needed now - 99 to be precise, from 131 balls.

  • 23.4 RUN OUT CHANCE MISSED! Dear me, that was an easy run out chance but West Indies fail to inflict it. A low full toss on off, Mithun reverse paddles it down towards short third man and sets off for a run. Rahim initially responds for the single but then stops. Seeing that Mithun also stutters and to his bad luck, slips. Meanwhile, Holder has all the time in the world to send in the throw to the keeper but he fires it way over Shai Hope. Mithun responds and runs. Carter runs to the ball quickly and back-flips it to the keeper. The keeper collects and removes the bails before appealing. The umpire take it upstairs and asks for replays which show that the batsman is safe. Good fielding though!
