  • Oman have delivered a spotless show on the field and now it's up to their batsmen to scale down this minuscule target. The pitch appeared to be on the slower side but not as bad as the UAE batsmen made it look like. Should be an easy chase. Can the hosts bounce back through their bowling? Do join us in a short while to find out.
  • Fayyaz Khan is down for an interview. Says that there is no pace on the surface and they wanted to take full advantage of it. Feels that they can chase down the target as they have a deep batting lineup. Thanks the crowd for their support and says that he is enjoying his time in the UAE.
  • Neat and tidy bowling performance by Oman! They have restricted UAE to a paltry total and will be full of confidence heading in for a break. The home team struggled to score runs freely against some accurate bowling and their innings just meandered along without much intent. Muhammad Usman and his partnership with Waheed Ahmed somehow dragged the total beyond the 100-run mark but in totality, it was a very average performance by the hosts. Bilal Khan and Fayyaz Butt were the standout bowlers as they hunted down six wickets together.
  • 19.6 Surely he can! Just the couple from the last ball which means only 3 from the last over. A yorker on middle, it is jammed out towards mid on. The batters take one and go for the second. Complete it. UAE END WITH 108/9!
  • 19.5 Good change in length! Goes short. Raza looks to pull but misses as he is late into the shot. Just the single from the over so far. Can he end it well?
  • 19.4 A bye! A yorker on the pads, Khan fails to jam it out. The batters look to steal a bye. The keeper misses his shy at his end.
  • 19.3 One more dot! A yorker outside off, Khan looks to jam it out but misses.
  • Zahoor Khan is the last man in.
  • 19.2 OUT! Siddique has been given out caught behind. This could be a debatable decision here. Khan bowls one full and outside off. Siddique swings. There is some noise after the ball passes the bat. The keeper takes it and appeals but it seems to be a bump ball. The umpires though get together and have a chat. They can't take it to the third umpire as that facility is not available. After a while, up goes the finger and Siddique has to take the long walk back. Nine down are UAE. However, replays show that the ball seemed to have bounced behind the bat.
  • 19.1 A dot to start! Short and outside off, the batter swings hard but only manages to connect with thin air.
  • Bilal Khan to bowl the last over.
  • 18.6 Short ball outside off, Siddique goes for the pull but mistimes it. However, he gets enough bat on it to clear the mid-wicket fielder and take a single. 105/8
  • Ahmed Raza, the skipper, walks out to bat. He needs to hit a few out of the ground here.
  • 18.5 OUT! CAUGHT! Third wicket in the over and Butt is on fire! Another short ball outside off, Sultan Ahmed has to fetch it from out there and hence fails to time his pull shot properly. It goes high in the air but doesn't have the wings to go all the way. It's an easy catch for Mohammad Nadeem at deep mid-wicket. UAE 104/8 and struggling badly.
  • 18.4 Yorker by Butt for the hat-trick ball but Siddique does well to dig it out towards mid on. One run added to the total.
  • Junaid Siddique is in next to swing his bat. He will be facing the hat-trick ball.
  • 18.3 OUT! Zeeshan Maqsood takes the catch now and Fayyaz Butt is on a hat-trick! The set batsman is out of here and UAE are in tatters. Short ball outside off, slower in pace, Usman looks to be cheeky and guide this one over the short third man fielder. But he does not get the desired timing on this and Zeeshan Maqsood there takes the catch over his head. UAE struggling to even get to the 120-run mark.
  • Sultan Ahmed walks out to bat.
  • 18.2 OUT! CAUGHT! Sandeep Goud takes a good catch and breaks the 29-run stand. Full in length around off, angling in, Waheed aims to go downtown over the bowler's head but gets more height than distance behind his shot. Goud runs across to his right from long off and takes the catch to dismiss Ahmed.
  • 18.1 FOUR! Waheed Ahmed looks to whip this one over the square leg fence but gets a top edge on that one. However, he gets the desired result as the ball flies towards the fine leg region and a boundary results.
  • Fayyaz Butt to bowl the penultimate over.
  • 17.6 Waheed Ahmed goes for the pull shot but fails to connect cleanly. It's a bit aerial but in the gap at square leg for one. The best over for UAE so far as 12 runs came off it. Much needed impetus at the end of the innings. 99/5
  • 17.5 Outside off, Usman pushes this one towards point for a single.
  • 17.4 FOUR! Unconventional but mightily effective! This one is bowled on the hips of Usman, he gets up on one leg and semi-pulls this one towards backward square leg for a boundary.
  • 17.3 Length ball on off, Ahmed opens the face of the bat and guides this one towards third man for one.
  • 17.2 Fuller this time, again outside off. Usman powerfully drives this one towards cover-point for one.
  • 17.1 FOUR! Good length ball outside off, Usman backs away and smashes this one through the cover region for a boundary.
  • Mohammad Nadeem is back! 3-0-10-1 his figures so far.
  • 16.6 Works it with the turn through square leg for one. So end of an over which could have had a wicket in it. Still a good over for Oman. 87/5
  • 16.6 WIDE! Short and a little too wide outside off, Usman looks to cut but misses. Wided.
  • 16.5 Slower through the air on middle, it is hit back to the bowler.
  • 16.4 Ahmed comes down the track but does not get to the pitch of the ball. He does well to drop it with soft hands towards cover for one.
  • 16.3 On off, this is pushed through covers for one more.
  • 16.2 Full and on middle, this is eased down to long on for one.
  • 16.1 In the air... dropped! Aqib is the culprit. This is lovely bowling by Ali. He gives it a lot of air and it is the googly. The batsman comes down the track and looks to go big but he is not to the pitch of the delivery. He only manages to hit it high up in the air beside the pitch towards mid off. The fielder from covers comes in, gets two hands to it but the ball pops out. He fails to take it on the second attempt as well. A single taken.
  • Khawar Ali is back! 2-0-9-1 so far from him.
  • 15.6 Down the leg side, Usman flicks it towards square leg and takes a single to retain strike. 81/5
  • 15.5 A touch fuller, Usman pushes this one towards mid on.
  • 15.4 SIX! Bang! Usman sends this one out of here! Short of a length ball outside off, Usman goes onto the back foot and pulls this one over square leg for a maximum. Much-needed runs for the hosts here.
  • 15.3 The batsman defends it from within the crease.
  • Waheed Ahmed is the new man in.
  • 15.2 OUT! CAUGHT! The set batsman, Rohan Mustafa departs and the hopes of getting a competitive total on the board looking bleak for UAE now. Bilal bowls a length ball outside off, Rohan tries to go for the slog over mid-wicket but mistimes it. It is up in the air for a long time, Aamir Kaleem sets himself underneath it and takes the skier safely. UAE looking for some fresh inspiration now.
  • 15.1 Length ball outside off, Usman opens the face of his bat and guides it towards third man for a single.
  • Bilal Khan is back on! His figures so far 2-0-13-1.
  • 14.6 A single to end! Usman works this down to long on and gets to the other end. End of Ilyas for today. A very good spell by him. His figures 4-0-20-0. 73/4
  • 14.5 Fuller and on middle, this is worked through mid-wicket for one.
  • 14.4 The batsman has punched the ball off the back foot. One run added to the total.
  • 14.3 A huge appeal from the bowler but nothing! This is bowled down the leg side, the batter looks to flick but it goes off something. Maybe the pad. The bowler appeals, the keeper then joins but the umpire shakes his head. No wide so it has to be pad.
  • 14.2 Mustafa comes down the track but Ilyas slows it up. He swings but it goes off the inner half through mid-wicket for one.
  • 14.1 The batter makes room and looks to go with the turn over covers but it goes off the inner half down to long on for one.
  • 13.6 FOUR! Pressure released! Another one tossed up outside off, Mustafa gets down on one knee and reverse sweeps this one fine towards the third man region for a boundary. 68/4
  • 13.5 Floated outside off, Mustafa sweeps this one towards deep square leg for one.
  • 13.4 On the pads of Usman, he flicks it towards square leg for a single.
  • 13.3 Beautiful bowling by Ali here! He floats this one on the off pole line, it is a googly. The ball spins away from the batter who looks to defend but is beaten. The keeper is quick to dislodge the bails and appeal for a stumping but the umpire has correctly judged that Usman got his foot back in the crease in time. Great performance by Oman here as they are overwhelming the hosts.
  • 13.2 Full and floated on off, drives this one towards mid on.
  • 13.1 Mustafa comes down the track. Ali pushes this wide of Mustafa but he is still able to get some bat on it and he drags this one towards long on. The batters take one.
  • 12.6 Shorter in length this time, Mustafa pushes this one off the back foot towards long on for one. 60/4
  • 12.5 Floated on middle and leg, Usman pushes this one towards long on and takes a single.
  • 12.4 Mustafa flicks this one towards mid-wicket and takes a quick single.
  • 12.3 Fuller and on off, Usman pushes this one towards the cover region for a run.
  • 12.2 On the pads of Rohan, he flicks it towards mid-wicket for one.
  • 12.1 Darts this one on middle and off, defended by the batter.
  • 11.6 A dot to end a successful first over by Ali. On middle, it is kept out. 55/4
  • Muhammad Usman is the next man in for the hosts. They are reeling at 55/4 and a partnership is needed at this stage.
  • 11.5 OUT! TIMBER! Ali gets his man. The missed run out opportunity does not cost a lot. Shahzad perishes in the attempt to find the fence. He had to go, he had no choice. Brings out the slog sweep but is beaten in the flight and the dip on this delivery. The ball ends up hitting the stumps behind. UAE slip further. They seem to be going nowhere at the moment. The runs are not coming and they are also losing wickets regularly.
  • 11.4 Gives it air and lands it on middle, it is defended.
  • 11.3 The bowler tried to be cheeky there. It almost came off! Shahzad was out by a long way. A flatter delivery has been punched back to the bowler. Shahzad was backing up quite a long way. The bowler collects the ball and looks to hit the stumps at his end but misses from a very close range. It goes towards long on and a run is taken. He should have hit the stumps from there.
  • 11.2 Slower through the air on off, this one is kept out.
  • 11.1 Out comes the reverse sweep but it is hit straight to the point fielder.
  • Khawar Ali into the attack now.
  • 10.6 FOUR! A much, much-needed boundary! This is short and asking to be hit. Shahzad does that. He hits it hard and wide of the deep mid-wicket fielder for a boundary. Spoils the over. 8 from it. 54/3
  • 10.5 50 up as this is worked towards wide long on for one. These two need to go now. The 50 has come up in the 11th over.
  • 10.4 Now the off spinner to the left-hander. So the idea is clear, turn the ball away from the batters. It is on the pads. Mustafa looks to work it on the leg side against the turn. He ends up getting a soft leading edge back to the bowler.
  • 10.3 Out comes the leg spinner from the bowler, it is on the pads though and is worked through square leg for another run.
  • 10.2 This is quicker and on off, the batter tries to defend but it goes off the inner half on the leg side for one.
  • 10.1 Comes down the track but gets too close to the pitch of the delivery, hence, fails to get under it properly and only manages to hit it towards long on for one.
  • 9.6 Fuller this time, Mustafa pushes this towards extra cover for another couple. 46/3
  • 9.5 Shahzad plays this one towards the point region for one.
  • 9.4 On the pads of Shahzad, he flicks it towards backward square leg for a couple. However, the second here was a risky run but UAE have been forced into taking such risks by Oman.
  • 9.3 Run out chance but no harm done. Shahzad plays this one off the front foot towards the point region. The fielder there is quick to get to the ball but does not collect it. The non-striker was halfway down the track and might have been in trouble had the fielder collected that one.
  • 9.2 Shahzad tries to play at this length ball but is beaten by the slow pace of this delivery. Good bowling this!
  • 9.1 Short of a length outside off, Shahzad leaves the ball alone.
  • 8.6 Mustafa tries to go for the reverse sweep but he fails to connect on this one. It hits him first on the pads and then on the chest. The bowler puts in a loud appeal but nothing from the umpire. Maybe the impact is outside off or even the height can be an issue here. 41/3
  • 8.5 Shahzad flicks this one off his pads towards mid-wicket and takes a single.
  • 8.4 Good fielding again! Mustafa flicks this one off his pads towards mid-wicket, the fielder there is quick to get to it and denies the batters the second.
  • 8.3 Mustafa plays this one towards the off side. No runs available here.
  • 8.2 Beauty! Floated outside off, the ball pitches and turns beating the outside edge of Mustafa's blade.
  • 8.1 Floated on off, Mustafa pushes this towards cover.
  • Aqib Ilyas is on now!
  • 7.6 Outside off, Mustafa cuts this one towards backward point for one. 39/3
  • 7.5 Length ball outside off, Rohan Mustafa looks to cut but he misses the line of the delivery and is beaten.
  • 7.4 On the pads of Shahzad, he flicks it towards square leg for a single.
  • 7.3 Mustafa this time gets a single as he plays a cut wide of point.
  • 7.2 Great fielding! Short ball outside off, Rohan gets on the back foot and plays a strong square cut. The backward point fielder dives full stretch to his right and makes a brilliant stop.
  • 7.1 On the pads of Shahzad, he flicks it towards mid-wicket for a single.
  • 6.6 FOUR! Reverse swept by Rohan Mustafa! Full and outside off, Mustafa gets down on one knee and reverse sweeps it towards the third man fence. 35/3
  • 6.5 Beautiful bowling this! Gives this one air on off, the ball pitches and spins away in the air. Mustafa is completely beaten.
  • 6.4 Plays this one towards backward point.
  • 6.3 Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
  • 6.2 Pushes this fuller one towards mid off and takes a single.
  • 6.1 Flatter on the off pole, Shahzad opens the face of the bat and guides this one towards point.
  • 5.6 A dot to end a Powerplay dominated by the bowling side. UAE are 30 for 3. This is shorter and on middle, it is worked towards short fine leg. Excellent start for Nadeem, just the run and the two wickets from the over for Oman. 30/3
  • 5.5 Play and a miss! This is full and outside off, Mustafa goes chasing after it but gets beaten.
  • 5.4 Good delivery! This lands on off and it is on a length. It jags back in. Shahzad looks to defend but it goes off the inner half through backward square leg for one.
  • 5.3 Shorter and around off, this is guided to point.
  • Rameez Shahzad is the next man in for UAE. Oman on a team hat-trick.
  • 5.2 OUT! In the air... taken! End of Suri. Big wicket as Suri was really looking fluent out there. UAE now in deep trouble here. They have lost their third in the Powerplay and not many teams win after losing that many wickets. The slowness in the wicket was visible here. This is full and on the pads, Suri looks to flick but closes the face of the bat early. It goes off the leading half of his blade towards Zeeshan at mid on. A sitter for the skipper.
  • Rohan Mustafa is the next man in for UAE.
  • 5.1 OUT! Direct hit and Shabber is out of here! He was not even in the frame there that is how risky this run was. The Powerplay keeps getting better for Oman. This is shorter and on middle. Shabber drags his pull towards mid on and takes off. The fielder there picks the ball up and hits the bull's eye at the non-striker's end. Shabber has been given out on the field.
  • Another change as Mohammad Nadeem is on now! He will bowl the last over of the Powerplay.
  • 4.6 For a second there, mid off thought he is in business but this has cleared the man there easily. Floated on off, Shabber just lofts it over mid off. It looked like the ball would cross the fence but it is stopped by the fielder who runs in from long on. The batters take three. 29/1
  • 4.5 Full and floated outside off, Shabber goes for the reverse sweep but misses.
  • 4.4 Shorter this time, Suri eases this one towards deep cover for one.
  • 4.3 Flatter outside off, pushed towards cover again.
  • 4.2 Floated outside off, pushed towards the man at covers.
  • 4.1 Darts this one on middle and off, Suri pushes it back to the bowler.
  • Aamir Kaleem is into the attack now. Spin for the first time in this game!
  • 3.6 Wide outside off, Suri opens the face of the bat and guides it towards third man for a single. A good over this, just the two runs from it. 25/1
  • 3.5 Length ball on off, pushed towards the man at point by Suri. The fielder there has a shy at the keeper's end but misses and the ball is collected by the fielder at square leg.
  • 3.4 Shorter one just above head height, Shabber pulls this one towards square leg and takes a single.
  • 3.3 Slower delivery on a length, Shabber looks to defend but is beaten by the pace and movement on it.
  • 3.2 Good bowling this! Bowls a slower yorker way outside off, Shabber looks to slash at it but gets just the bottom edge on it which goes to the keeper on the bounce.
  • 3.1 Good length ball on off, tucked towards the man at mid-wicket.
  • 2.6 Once again a dot to end! Shorter and outside off, Suri lets it be. Another good over for UAE. 23/1
  • 2.5 Slightly closer to the off pole, Suri guides it to point. He wants a run but is sent back in time.
  • 2.4 FOUR! Make that three now! This was more off the back foot. A little bit of width on offer and Suri makes the bowler pay. He waits for the ball to come to him and then just times it past point. No stopping those. Lovely batting.
  • 2.3 FOUR! Another classy shot from Suri! This is a slower one and it is fuller outside off. The batter waits for it. Leans into the shot and creams it through covers. Two boundaries from Suri and both so beautiful.
  • 2.2 Looks to move the ball away from the leg pole but it goes straight on. The batter works it through square leg and gets to the other end.
  • 2.1 Good movement there for the bowler! The line and length too was good. This starts on off and it is on a length. Draws the batter into playing a stroke but the ball moves away and beats the outside edge.
  • 1.6 A dot to end but a good over for UAE! Goes short does the bowler, Suri watches it and evades it. 14/1
  • 1.5 One more single! A little too straight, the batter works it past mid-wicket for another run.
  • 1.4 Third single after the boundary! This is angled into the batter, Suri flicks it towards mid-wicket.
  • 1.3 Another single as Shabber works it towards square leg.
  • 1.2 A single to follow the boundary! Good batting! Works this with the angle through square leg and gets to the other end.
  • 1.1 FOUR! That is gorgeous! Just brilliant. One of the hardest shots to play in the game and Suri has done it so easily. Also, a top class shot to get off the mark. It is on a length and around middle, Suri shows the full face of the bat and strokes it past mid on for a boundary.
  • Fayyaz Butt to bowl from the other end.
  • 0.6 A dot to end a successful first over for Oman. This is on middle, the batter goes back and defends it onto the ground. 6/1
  • Ghulam Shabber is the next man in.
  • 0.5 OUT! TAKEN! That is an absolute stunner by Aqib. Bilal has the last laugh and Oman have struck early. Exactly what they would have wanted after electing to bowl first. Ashfaq Ahmed though can consider himself unlucky here. He had absolutely nailed that one. It is short and outside off, Ahmed cuts it hard but does not keep it down. It goes to the left of the point fielder who dives with both his hands stretched out to take a ripper. The Oman players are pumped up!
  • 0.4 FOUR! Powered away! First boundary of the game! Slightly shorter and it is around middle, Ahmed picks the length early and he pulls it hard through mid-wicket for a boundary.
  • 0.3 Goes wider outside off, Ahmed guides it to point.
  • 0.2 Two leg byes! UAE are underway! One more inswinger, this time it is a little too straight. Ahmed looks to flick but misses. It hits the pads and rolls down to fine leg for two.
  • 0.1 Some swing to begin with! This starts on off and then it comes back in. It is on a length. The batter gets right behind the line and keeps it out.
  • Time for the action to begin! The players make their way out to the middle. The UAE openers, Chirag Suri and Ashfaq Ahmed, will open the innings. Bilal Khan to start the proceedings for Oman. Here we go...
  • Ahmed Raza, the UAE skipper, says he wanted to bat first anyways. Mentions it has been a tough week but they have won their warm-up games and the morale is high. States they won 4-0 against Netherlands which was also an away win so they are looking forward to see how they play here. Ends by saying the playing XI was hard to pick and now everybody has to play to their best.
  • Zeeshan Maqsood, the Oman skipper, says they would look to restrict them to a score as low as possible and then chase it down. Mentions they are high in confidence at the moment and looking forward to this game. Ends by saying 150 should be a par score.
  • Oman (Playing XI) - Zeeshan Maqsood (C), Jatinder Singh, Suraj Kumar (WK), Fayyaz Butt, Khurram Nawaz, Bilal Khan, Khawar Ali, Sandeep Goud, Aqib Ilyas, Aamir Kaleem, Mohammad Nadeem.
  • UAE (Playing XI) - Chirag Suri, Ashfaq Ahmed, Ghulam Shabber (WK), Rohan Mustafa, Rameez Shahzad, Muhammad Usman, Waheed Ahmed, Sultan Ahmed, Ahmed Raza (C), Junaid Siddique, Zahoor Khan.
  • Toss - Oman win the toss and they have elected to bowl first.
