  • How will West Indies reply on this belter of a pitch? The ground is pretty big and there were no maximums in the first innings but if anyone could clear the ropes here, it has to be the power-hitters from West Indies. Join us back in a short while for the run chase!
  • As for West Indies, Cottrell and Joseph were the only bowlers who threatened and the only ones who got into the wickets column as well. Cottrell and Joseph took 4 and 3 wickets each. As for the other bowlers, none of them could even create pressure on the Sri Lankan batters. The fielding by the West Indies was especially poor in this game as they put down several catches.
  • Sri Lanka were put into bat after losing the toss and in the initial stages, it was all going well for West Indies as the hosts were 2 wickets down for just 9 runs. They could have been 3 down had Pollard held onto the catch of Kusal Mendis and that is what came back to bite them. Kusal Mendis and Avishka Fernando then took the game away from the visitors as they stitched a marathon 239-run stand. In the final 10 overs, West Indies made a sort of a comeback as they took 6 wickets although conceding 99 runs. Sri Lanka would be a touch disappointed with their efforts in the death as they could have scored 20-30 runs more.
  • An awesome batting effort by Sri Lanka has seen them put on a massive total on the board and West Indies have a huge task at their hands. Pollard will not be happy with himself and his charges in regards to their fielding efforts but now they have to focus on the run chase.
  • 49.6 OUT! Hasaranga is run out! Cottrell serves a slower length ball outside off, angling away, Wanindu shuffles across the stumps and tries to play the paddle shot. Fails to connect and they attempt to steal a bye. The keeper misses his shy at the striker's end and the ball rolls to the bowler. Cottrell picks it up and back flicks it onto the stumps as Wanindu dives in. It's referred upstairs and a few frames were enough to find Hasaranga short. SRI LANKA FINISH ON 345/8!
  • Appeal for a run out at the bowler's end. It's been referred upstairs...
  • 49.5 Back of a length ball angling into the batsman, Wanindu hits it across the line through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 49.4 Cottrell switches to 'round the wicket and slips a length ball down the leg side. Wanindu tries to flick but misses. It goes off his pads to short fine leg for a leg bye.
  • 49.3 FOUR! Fantastic shot! Very full ball around leg, Hasaranga makes room and drills his drive through covers for a boundary.
  • 49.2 DROPPED AGAIN! West Indies' fielding has been mediocre today. Slower full ball around leg, Udana heaves it over square leg and Fabian Allen drops a sitter. They take three runs. This is now Sri Lanka's highest total against West Indies in ODIs.
  • 49.1 DROPPED AND FOUR! Fuller length ball outside off, Udana goes hard at it and edges it towards short third man. The fielder there jumps but it brushes his fingers and goes behind for a boundary.
  • 48.6 Good length ball on off, Udana has lofted over the cover region. Pollard goes chasing after it and the batters take three runs. 332/7
  • 48.5 DROPPED AND FOUR! A tough, tough chance and Holder has put it down. A good effort by Holder though. Short of a length ball on off, Udana slaps this one down the ground. Holder from long on runs to his left and dives. He gets both hands to it but the ball pops out and just about touches the fence.
  • 48.4 Length ball outside off, Udana looks to power it over long off but mistimes it. Pollard runs back from mid off but cannot get to it and a couple taken.
  • 48.3 Full toss on middle and off, lofted over the bowler's head powerfully but the man in the deep cuts it off and only one run comes off it.

  • 48.1 FOUR! Freebie for Hasaranga and he makes full use of it! A slower full toss outside off, Hasaranga just opens the face of the bat and guides it past backward point for a boundary.
  • Keemo Paul is back on. 6-0-46-0 are his figures so far.

  • 45.6 FOUR! Off the gloves! Bouncer again, this time Hasaranga looks to pull but the ball kisses his gloves and goes over Shai Hope and into the fence behind him. Hasaranga is off the mark in unconvincing although effective fashion. 307/6
  • 45.5 Bouncer on middle and off, Hasaranga, the hero of the last match, ducks under it.
  • Wanindu Hasaranga walks out to bat next.
  • 45.4 OUT! BOWLED! Again the salute comes out and this time de Silva walks back. Length ball around the leg pole line, it is a leg cutter. De Silva looks to hit this one over the off side but misses. Cottrell though hits and the middle and leg poles are disturbed. The Lankan charge is being halted a bit at the death by the Windies.

  • 44.1 EDGED AND FOUR! Lucky Perera! High full toss on the middle and off pole, Perera looks to make room and help it towards point but the ball takes a thick outside edge and races to the third man fence.
  • 43.6 A lovely flowing cover drive by Thisara but this time it has been stopped with a dive near the edge of the box. A single to complete a 15-run over. 289/5
  • 43.5 Too full in length outside off, Perera reaches out for it with an open face and steers it behind point for a couple.
  • 43.4 Excellent running! Back of a length delivery outside off, Dhananjaya slaps it to deep cover-point for a couple of runs. They take another run on the throw.
  • 43.3 FOUR! Poor delivery with mid off up in the circle. Fullish floating delivery outside off, Dhananjaya lifts it over the infield and fetches a boundary.

  • 42.6 OUT! TIMBER! The middle stump has come off the ground and Mathews departs for just one run. A full ball on middle and off, nipping in. • Angelo Mathews is the next batsman in. 100th ODI for him in Sri Lanka.
  • 42.2 OUT! CAUGHT! The dropped catch of Fernando does not cost a lot and Paul will be a relieved man. However, Fernando has played a fantastic knock here and is going off the pitch with his head and bat held high. Fernando looks to make room and go over the off side but Joseph follows him with a short ball. Fernando looks to pull but mistimes it. The ball goes high towards the man at mid-wicket where Keemo Paul takes an easy catch. West Indies looking to peg Sri Lanka back at the death.
  • 42.1 DROPPED! It was an easy catch but Keemo has dropped it and let Fernando off the hook! Length ball on middle and off, Fernando rocks back and looks to heave it over mid-wicket. The ball goes off the top half of the bat towards deep mid-wicket. Paul there settles under it but puts down an easy catch. The fielding has been very sloppy by the Windies here! The batsmen take a couple.
  • 41.6 FOUR! Perera indeed makes it count! Very poor delivery by Holder. From 'round the wicket angle, he serves a full ball on the pads and Thisara smashes it over mid-wicket for a boundary. 269/3
  • Free Hit time! Thisara Perera on strike, can he make it count?
  • 41.6 Holder oversteps now! Nothing going for West Indies at the moment. Fuller and on middle, Fernando tries to whip it across the line but inside edges it to deep square leg for a run.

  • 40.4 Fernando almost threw his wicket away here! Full ball on the pads, Perera flicks this one towards mid-wicket. The batters complete the single but Fernando wants the second. He sets off but Perera says no. He is almost halfway down the pitch before he decides to return. The throw goes towards Shai Hope but he has to come in front of the stumps to collect the ball. Length delivery on middle and off, Mendis looks to heave this one towards the mid-wicket region. It is an off cutter by Joseph. The ball takes the top edge and goes high in the air. • 40.1 Full ball on middle and off, Mendis again goes for the paddle scoop but does not time it properly. The ball goes high in the air towards fine leg. However, it falls short and bounces first in front of the fielder. Then it goes above his head and behind him and the batters take two.

  • In pursuit, West Indies started steadily but failed to capitalize. They were completely at sea against the Lankan wrist spinners and flopped miserably. Shai Hope once again was the only batsman to present a fight but apart from him, it was a collective failure for the touring team. A thoroughly professional effort in the field by the Lankan Lions and they deserve to be 2-0 ahead in the series.
  • A ruthless show one can say! Although it started on a sorry note for Sri Lanka as they lost two quick wickets upfront but that was followed by a record and marathon 239-run stand between Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis. Both struck fabulous centuries and propelled the home team to a gigantic total. The West Indian bowling was very flat, however, Alzarri Joseph and Sheldon Cottrell bowled some good overs at the death. Their fielding though was very mediocre with plenty of catches getting dropped and granting Mendis a life when he was on 2 haunted them the most.
  • Thumping win for Sri Lanka! They have registered their biggest win against West Indies in ODIs to take an unsurpassable lead in the 3-match ODI series. The Lankan dressing room is all smiles and their players are celebrating in the middle.
  • 39.1 OUT! End of the story! Sandakan serves a flighted full ball around leg, Allen aims to go downtown and clear long on but fails to get enough distance behind his shot. Thisara Perera takes a simple catch and SRI LANKA WIN BY 161 RUNS!
  • Sheldon Cottrell is the last man in for the West Indies.
  • 38.6 OUT! Pradeep strikes with a corker of a yorker. Nails it at the base of off stump, little bit of tail in the air and Joseph is late in bringing his bat down. The off stump goes for a walk and Sri Lanka are just one wicket away from taking an unassailable lead in the series. 184/9
  • 38.5 Digs in a short ball on off, Joseph tries his best to pull but misses.
  • 38.4 Spears in a full ball on off, Joseph tries to drive but it takes the inner half, strikes him on the front pad and rolls back to the bowler.
  • Resumption time! After a delay of little over 10 minutes, the floodlight is restored to its working state. Pradeep steams in...
  • Alzarri Joseph is the new batsman. It seems there is a light failure. One of the floodlights has stopped illuminating and we have a delay. The spectators are flashing the back light of their mobile phones. Unfortunately, that cannot help.
  • 38.3 OUT! Pradeep destroys the stumps with his back of the hand variation. He lands it on a length around off, Paul is way too early into his shot and as a result, he fails to make any connection. Wicket number 8 goes down and the end is nigh for West Indies.
  • 38.2 FOUR! Aerial but wide of short mid-wicket! Short in length and around off, Keemo rides the bounce and hammers his pull to the deep mid-wicket fence.
  • 38.1 Good length ball around off, Paul stays back to defend but gets an inside edge onto the pads.
