So that is it from this game. The hosts as expected have taken a 1-0 lead. One more Test to go though and that will be played on December 11, 2020 in Wellington. Join us for that at 1100 local (2200 GMT). Till then, goodbye and take care!

Jason Holder, West Indies skipper, says that he is disappointed with his team's batting. Adds that they will look to improve on their batting. Mentions they would look to improve their bowling and would look to work on the areas they need to bowl on. Holder also says that they need to start delivering and understand that they need to fight harder and find a way to bat well. Credits Blackwood and Joseph for batting well and putting up a fight. Informs Dowrich is doubtful for the next Test as he is still complaining about pain. Ends by saying the support staff has been excellent and now they need to come back strong in the next Test.

Kane Williamson, New Zealand skipper, is named the Player of the Match. He starts off by saying that it has been a brilliant victory for them. Adds that his knock was special and crucial for the team. Mentions it was great to spend time in the middle and build some partnerships. Credits Tom Latham for his excellent batting. Williamson says it was a collective effort from their batsmen to post a huge score in the first innings. Adds it was important for their bowlers to be patient and continue to hit the right lengths. Ends by saying it was a really good win but they need to focus on the second Test now.

Blackwood got to his ton. Joseph was eyeing one too. They frustrated the Kiwis. This stand is probably the only positive the Windies could take from this game. However, it was just a matter of one wicket and once the Kiwis got Joseph, they got the other two quickly. A comprehensive win for the hosts.

They were bundled out for 138. The Kiwis enforced the follow-on and it seemed they would get all the 20 wickets on Day 3 itself but then came a fight back. Joseph and Blackwood amassed a 100-plus run stand. They took the game in Day 4.

Windies did start off their innings well as their openers put up a fifty run stand but it all went wrong for them on Day 3. 16 wickets is what they lost.

It was all New Zealand in this game. First they put up a massive first innings total courtesy a double ton by their skipper.

So just over an hour is what it took for the Kiwis to take the remaining three wickets however, it was not before Blackwood score his ton. Joseph also continued to show fight on Day 4 but once he fell, the other two wickets fell in no time.

Southee starts Day 4 with a good length delivery on off, Blackwood defends it off the back foot.

We are all set to begin Day 4. The New Zealand players are out in the middle. Jermaine Blackwood and Alzarri Joseph will resume their innings for the West Indies. Tim Southee will start the proceedings for Day 4.

The hosts, on the other hand, are just the three wickets away and if we see Dowrich batting then 4 wickets away from claiming a 1-0 lead. They would be hoping to take the wickets quickly and finish the game. Will that be the case or the Windies still have some fight left in them? We will find out...

The pair really fought back and have frustrated the Kiwis. Can they continue that though? Can they help the Windies avoid an innings defeat? They are still 185 runs away from that.

Hello and welcome to the coverage of what could well be the last day or maybe even the last session of this Test. We saw 15 wickets falling on Day 3 and had it not been for the Joseph-Blackwood stand, the game would have probably ended yesterday itself.

... Day 4, Session 1 ...

Right! New Zealand well and truly on top, in spite of that superb unbeaten 107-run stand between Blackwood and Joseph. They are still ahead by 185 runs and need just 3 wickets to win the game. They will get good rest and would look to come back and knock the remaining wickets to take the lead in this 2-game series. The visitors, on the other hand, would want these to bat and bat and bat. It will not be easy for them in the first hour of Day 4. Will the Kiwis be able to get those wickets quickly or will Blackwood and Joseph be able to tire them more? We will find out all the answers on Day 4. Join us for the same. For now, it is goodbye from our side. Cheers and take care!

Williamson enforced the follow on and West Indies were off to a worst possible start as Boult struck in the 2nd over of the innings. Things got bad to worse for them as Wagner got two in the same over. The score soon read 5/53 before Holder and Blackwood resisted again, but for just a short while. Holder got out playing a rash stroke and it looked like we will have the result on Day 3 itself, in spite of a few rain interruptions. And then Blackwood met Joseph and that was the start of a terrific stand that troubled the Kiwis but they just failed to go past the association of Blackwood and Joseph. They threw everything they had at both of them but it just didn't go their way at all. And it was a tough final session for the Kiwi bowlers.

The day would still belong to the Kiwis as they have taken 15 wickets in this game. 9 in the first innings and 6 here. It was Southee show in the morning as New Zealand rolled over West Indies in the first innings. He got good support from the other bowlers as well. Apart from skipper Holder and Blackwood, none of the Windies batters could offer any sort of resistance. It was a sorry batting display from them.

Terrific counter-attack from Blackwood and Joseph and they have taken the game into Day 4. At one point, it looked like the Kiwis will be able to wrap up the things well before Stumps but these two had different ideas. They just went from strength to strength and kept on piling the runs. A few missed chances didn't help New Zealand's cause.

31.4

Put down? Is it? Don't tell me. Yes, another one goes down but this was hit with brutal force from Joseph. Full ball outside off, he drills it. The ball goes quickly to Latham at covers. He kind of goes for the evasive action instead of trying to catch. Gets both hands but fails to hold on.

22.6

Good length and outside off, left alone. 92/6

22.5

Very full and outside off, Joseph squeezes it out towards backward point.

22.4

In the air... safe! Chance for a run out. Missed. Who missed? Well, Kane Williamson. Probably for the first time he has done something and it has not gone his way. Fuller and outside off, Blackwood looks to hammer it over mid off but once again it goes off the toe end. It falls well short of Williamson. But West Indies want to get it done quickly it seems as they go for the risky single. Williamson collects the ball and has a shy at the non-striker's end but he misses. Blackwood made a big dive but had Williamson hit, he would've been short.

22.3

Bouncer and on middle, Blackwood sits under it.

OUT! LBW! Yes, Mitchell has got his man. He has his maiden Test wicket. Poor, poor batting from him. He got a life just 1 ball ago. He played a reckless shot then and he tried something similar but this time he has to go. Fuller and around off and middle, Holder looks to slog it on the leg side via a flick but he misses it completely. He is struck on the pads. A massive appeal and the finger goes up. Holder asks for the review straightaway but that looked out to the naked eye. Let's see what the replays have got to show. No bat involved, Ultra Edge confirms. The Ball Tracker shows it to be clipping the leg pole. Holder has to go and Mitchell and the Kiwis celebrate.

Mitchell has surely got his wicket now. Or has he? Holder has been given out LBW but the Windies skipper takes it upstairs.

21.2

Length ball around middle, it is clipped through square leg for a couple.

21.2

NO BALL!  Holder is caught at covers. Holder is shocked! He is not sure what he has done here. A soft dismissal. Mitchell is delighted. Full ball outside off, Holder drills the drive but straight to the cover fielder. Mitchell Santner, the substitute makes no mistake. But hang on. Mitchell has overstepped. And he will have to wait for his maiden Test wicket.

18.6

Another one goes down! This time it is Blundell who puts it down. A length ball angled in. Holder looks to defend but the ball comes back in sharply. It takes the inside edge and goes to the left of the keeper. Blundell moves to that side and gets his gloves to it but it doesn't stick. Two drops in two balls. The batsmen get two runs. 75/5

18.5

Dropped! Full and wide outside off, Holder goes for the drive but ends up hitting it uppishly towards point fielder. Young there dives to his left, gets both the hands but spills it in the end.

15.2

Short again, pushed towards mid on this time.

15.1

Back of a length and just outside off, pushed towards the cover fielder.

Jason Holder is the new batsman in.

14.6

OUT! LBW! Yes, there is no bat and it is hitting the wicket too. Chase has been removed with an absolute ripper of a delivery from Jamieson. It is the inswinging yorker from him and Chase is all over the place as he tries to keep it out. He misses to get hit on the pad. A loud appeal follows and the umpire agrees. Chase opts to challenge the onfield call. But it won't really help him because Ultra Edge shows no bat and the Ball Tracker shows it to be crashing on the middle pole. Chase has to go. 53/5

DRS TIME! Chase has been given out LBW but he calls for the DRS. That looked really, really close and if there is no bat involved, Chase is walking back.

10.1

Right! We are back for the final session. The rain has gone. The lights have improved too. Let's hope we don't have another interruption here. The Kiwi players walk out to the field first and Jermaine Blackwood and Roston Chase follow them out in the middle. Kyle Jamieson will start for New Zealand with the ball. Here we go...

... Day 3, Session 3 ...

UPDATE 1625 local (0325 GMT) - And the good news is that the rain has stopped and the covers are being removed. The umpires are out in the middle, having a word with the groundsman. Looks a lot brighter than what it was when the players went back.

Trent Boult struck with the ball first this time and then Wagner's double wicket over forced West Indies on the back foot again. And you just can't keep Southee out of the picture so he took one himself. They will hope that they get on the field quickly and roll through the remaining batters. Let's hope that the rain goes away quickly and we are back for the final session. Stay tuned.

So, as the drizzle continues, the umpires have called for an early Tea. Smart move. However, the moves from the Windies batters haven't been smart so far. Campbell got out playing an out of character shot while his opening partner did the same. Bravo and Brooks didn't last long either and West Indies are staring down the barrel at the moment. They are still 351 runs behind and have just 6 wickets remaining. They are reeling at 30/4 at the moment.

9.6

Outside off, Jermaine offers no shot to this one. 30/4

9.5

OUT! CAUGHT! Yes! There is no conclusive evidence for the third umpire to overturn the onfield call. Looked touch and go. An absolute ripper of a delivery from Boult. He pitches it just outside off, Campbell is squared up as he looks to defend with hard hands. The induced outside edge goes to the second slip fielder. Latham catches it really low and New Zealand celebrate. Campbell is not going anywhere. The two umpires get together and refer it upstairs. The soft signal is out. That is going to play a big role. Let's see what the replays show. It looks really inconclusive there. With one angle it looks like the fingers are under the ball while another one suggests that it might have kissed the turf. Tough decision to make and the third umpire goes with the onfield call. Campbell has to go. New Zealand have struck early in this innings.

Has that carried to the slip fielder? The soft signal is out. The third umpire needs to have conclusive evidence to overturn the onfield call. It looks really tough but with soft signal is out, the third umpire might go that way.

0.1

Southee is right on the money! A length ball outside off, this one comes back in but Brathwaite covers his stumps and lets it go to the keeper. Good leave in the end.
