  • 242! When you see that figure, you would probably say the chasing side have already been batted out of the game. However, in this part of the country, we have seen big scores chased down. Will we see another? If the Kiwis even come close, we are going to have a cracker of a game. Stay tuned for the chase in a while.
  • Not a lot you can write about a bowling unit which has conceded so many runs! It seemed like New Zealand probably had an off day as they did not bowl that well. Too many loose deliveries. However, Santner was really good once again. Boult was also decent but the rest were taken to the cleaners.
  • Who would have thought England would end up with something above 240 when they were 18 for 1 after the fourth. At that time, it seemed the wicket was a little tacky and probably 170 or 180 would have been a good score but what came after that was a thrill to the eye. First it was Banton who started things, he though once again departed after getting off to a start. Then came what does not happen often, a 182-run stand in a T20I game between Morgan and Malan. Right from the word go, the two went after the bowlers and were hitting boundaries at will. Yes, they were helped with some bad bowling by the Kiwis but take nothing away from the knock which was exceptional. Malan scored his maiden T20I ton and Morgan missed out on his by 9 runs. However, the two have taken England to a massive score.
  • WOW! That was some unreal stuff from Malan and the English skipper! A much-needed break for the Kiwi players and for us as we had a lot to type. A well-deserved standing ovation for Malan as he gets back into the pavilion. Just superb, short of superlatives at the moment to describe how good the hitting was when the two were out there. A complete carnage.
  • 19.6 A dot to end! Just the 8 runs from the last over and a wicket! Has to be considered brilliant! Southee bowls the last one short and outside off as he sees Billings step out. Sam swings but misses. ENGLAND END WITH 241 FOR 3!
  • 19.5 Another low full toss outside off, Malan hits it down to long off for one.
  • Sam Billings is the new batsman in.
  • 19.4 OUT! In the air... taken! End of a magnificent innings by Morgan and an even better partnership with Malan. This was something special by the English skipper. He falls 9 short of a ton but that was surely not in his mind. Southee bowls a low full toss outside off, not easy to hit those. He ends up miscuing it towards cover where Mitchell takes a good sliding catch running forward.
  • 19.3 SIX! Morgan is into the 90s now. 91 to be precise with three balls to go. Southee fails to get the yorker right. He ends up bowling a full toss which Morgan hits over the square leg fence.
  • 19.2 Excellent bowling! One more yorker outside off, this is jammed out on the off side for one.
  • 19.1 A good start for Southee! A very full outside off, Malan is guilty of going way too hard at it. He ends up mistiming it towards the right of the bowler. Morgan is off but is sent back in time.
  • Tim Southee to bowl the last over.
  • 18.6 FOUR! Nice shot. Full delivery again on middle, Morgan flicks it through mid-wicket for a boundary. 25 runs have come from the over. 233/2
  • 18.5 SIX! Third maximum of the over. Full delivery on middle, Morgan plays a slog sweep over long on for a maximum.
  • 18.4 Short of a length delivery outside off, Morgan looks to pull but misses it.
  • 18.3 SIX! Second maximum of the over. On a length on middle, Morgan plays a slog sweep over square leg for a maximum.
  • 18.2 SIX! That is huge! Full delivery outside off, Morgan lofts it over long off for a biggie.
  • 18.2 WIDE! Bowls it down the leg side, Morgan looks to flick but misses it.
  • 18.1 Full delivery on middle, Morgan flicks it through mid-wicket. The batsmen pick up a couple.
  • 17.6 SIX! 100 for Malan! Take a bow. His maiden T20I century. What a knock this has been. Exceptional power-hitting. He gets there in style! Yes, he gets a freebie but it still needs to be hit. It is a knee high full toss. Malan swings and sends it into the mid-wicket stands. A huge round of applause for him, he takes his helmet off and soaks in the applause. Also, this is fastest ton by an English player in T20Is. 208/2
  • 17.5 Just the single! Full and on middle, this is hit down to long on for one.
  • 17.4 A brilliant yorker! Nothing the batter could do there. Malan tries to flick but misses to get hit on the toes. It rolls on the leg side. A single taken. Leg bye taken.
  • 17.3 Full and on off, Malan hits it towards mid off. A dot. Need a lot more dots do New Zealand.
  • 17.2 SIX! He is seeing it like a football out there! Another biggie for Malan. He is into the 90s. A slower one on off, Malan drags it towards mid-wicket. He has hit that well enough to clear the longer part of the ground.
  • 17.1 Difficult if they bowl more of these. A yorker on the pads, Morgan looks to whip it on the leg side but misses to get hit on the pads. It rolls on the leg side and a single is taken. Signaled as leg bye.
  • Trent Boult is back on. 3-0-22-0 are his figures so far.
  • 16.6 A couple to end! This could have easily been another boundary. It is short and down the leg side. Malan swings but it goes off the inner half towards fine leg. Two taken. 28 from the over. Three overs left, can England get to 240? 193/2
  • 16.5 SIX! 4,6,6,4,6! Sodhi is just clueless at the moment about where to bowl. This though is just over the fence. The slog sweep this time, it is with the turn and it clears the mid-wicket fence.
  • 16.4 FOUR! Bowl wherever, it is going to be hit for a boundary. 4,6,6,4 in this over so far. This time Malan innovates, out comes the reverse sweep, he pierces the gap between point and backward point and bags another boundary.
  • 16.3 SIX! Flighted delivery on off, Malan comes down the track and lofts it over covers for a boundary.
  • 16.2 SIX! Tossed up delivery on middle, Malan plays a sweep over square leg for a maximum.
  • 16.1 FOUR! Nice shot. Flighted delivery on middle, Malan plays a reverse sweep towards third man for a boundary.
  • Ish Sodhi is back on.
  • 15.6 Short delivery on middle, Malan pulls it towards mid-wicket for a run. 165/2
  • 15.5 On a good length and outside off, Malan looks to go big but misses it. Nothing off the Free Hit.
  • Free Hit coming up!
  • 15.5 NO BALL! Short of a length delivery, Morgan pulls it over mid-wicket but does not get the distance on it. It goes towards Guptill who takes the catch. The umpires check for a waist height no ball. In the end it is given as a no ball for waist height.
  • Morgan has been caught but they are checking for a waist height? The umpires get together and take it upstairs.
  • 15.4 FOUR! Nice shot. Full delivery on middle, Morgan lofts it over the bowler's head for a boundary.
  • 15.3 Play and a miss! On a good length and outside off, Morgan looks to go for the slog but misses it.
  • 15.2 Full delivery on off, Malan drives it towards covers for a run. The 100-run stand is up between Eoin Morgan and Dawid Malan.
  • 15.1 Full toss on leg, Morgan hits it towards long on for a single.
  • Blair Tickner is back on. 3-0-41-0 are his figures so far.
  • 14.6 Shorter and outside off, this is slapped through covers for one. A brilliant over, 7 runs from it. End of Santner for today, a good spell for him, his figures read 4-0-32-2. He only went for 32 despite going for 20 in one over. 156/2
  • 14.5 The slog sweep is out but it is not right off the middle. It goes towards deep mid-wicket for one.
  • 14.5 WIDE! Slower through the air but well wide of the off pole. Malan goes after it but misses. Wided.
  • 14.4 The batsman has just lofted it over mid off. The batsmen have run through for a single.
  • 14.3 Another dot! A yorker outside off, Morgan jams it back to the left of the bowler.
  • 14.2 Shorter and outside off, Morgan cuts but finds point. A rare dot.
  • 14.1 Just the single off the Free Hit! This is full and outside off, difficult to get under those. Malan hits it down to long off for one.
  • Free Hit coming up!
  • 14.1 NO BALL! That indeed is a no ball! It is above the waist height. New Zealand probably knew that as they did not start celebrating when the catch was taken. Santner bowls a high full toss. Morgan is a touch early in the pull. It goes off the bottom towards deep square leg. Daryl Mitchell takes the catch there. New Zealand though did not start celebrating. Morgan stands at the other run after the run is completed. The umpires take it upstairs and after watching a few replays, it is ruled in the favor of the batter. Free Hit coming up.
  • Morgan has been caught but is that above the waist height? The umpires get together and take it upstairs. No soft signal.
  • Mitchell Santner is back on. 3-0-25-2 are his figures so far.
  • 13.6 FOUR! Another huge over for England! It is complete carnage at the moment. The bowling is also not that great. Southee bowls a full toss outside off, Malan lofts it over covers and the ball races away to the fence. 149/2
  • 13.5 Full and wide outside off, Morgan hits it through covers for one.
  • 13.4 FOUR! 15 from the over! Deft! Brings up his fifty with a delicate shot. A destructive innings from the England skipper. If he stays out there, 220 will be possible. This is shorter and outside off, Morgan waits for it and then just guides it behind point. It races away.
  • 13.3 FOUR! Make that 11 from the first three balls! Full and outside off, Morgan drags it past Southee who tried to stop it with his feet. It goes down to the long on fence.
  • 13.2 Three taken! A low full toss on off, Malan gets it wide of mid off and takes three. 7 from the first two balls.
  • 13.1 FOUR! Malan is hitting everything off the middle. Fifty up for him. His fine form in this series continues. Another delivery in the slot for him. Full and outside off, Malan hammers it over the cover fielder and bags a boundary. He will be eyeing a big one now, still quite a few overs to go.
  • Tim Southee is back on. 2-0-19-0 are his figures so far.
  • 12.6 A single to end! The batsman plays a pull shot to this short delivery. One run added to the total. 129/2
  • 12.5 FOUR! Right off the middle! This is in the slot. Full and outside off, Malan stays leg side of the delivery and just lofts it over covers for a boundary.
  • 12.4 Full and outside off, Morgan now swings but he gets an inside edge onto the pads. The ball rolls on the off side and a single is taken.
  • 12.3 Just the single! Full and outside off, Malan throws his bat at it, he does not get it off the middle. It goes over point for one.
  • 12.2 A yorker now! It is on middle, Morgan jams it down to long off for one.
  • 12.1 Bowls this one on the body, cramps the batter for room. Malan whips it through square leg for one.
  • Blair Tickner is back!
  • 11.6 FOUR! Good shot. Full delivery on middle, Morgan lofts it over mid on for a boundary. 12 runs have come from the over. 120/2
  • 11.5 On a length on leg, Malan looks to flick but gets an inside edge onto the pads. It goes towards the leg side. The batsmen cross ends.
  • 11.4 Length delivery on off, Morgan punches it towards point for a run.
  • 11.3 On a length on middle, Malan flicks it towards mid-wicket for a single.
  • 11.2 Full delivery on middle, Morgan drives it towards mid on for a run.
  • 11.1 FOUR! England on the charge. Short and outside off, Morgan looks to cut but gets an outside edge. It goes over third man for a boundary. This is agressive batting from England here.
  • Trent Boult is back on. 2-0-10-0 are his figures so far.
  • 10.6 A single to end the best over of the innings so far! 20 runs from it. A full toss on off, this is hit down towards long off for one. 50-run stand is also up, exceptional partnership this. It has taken England right on top and now 200 looks on the cards. 108/2
  • 10.5 SIX! Raining boundaries here! Morgan now gets into the act. This is full and outside off again. Morgan lofts it over covers. There is a fielder in the deep but it is wide of him and also it crosses the ropes as it is the shorter side.
  • 10.4 Settled batting! Six, four and now an easy single as this is hit down to the long on fielder.
  • 10.3 FOUR! Crunched! This is another huge over! Santner goes wide and full outside off. Malan smashes it over covers and that gets to the fence in a jiffy.
  • 10.2 SIX! Nailed! That made a cracking sound of the bat. Malan goes down on one knee, plays the slog sweep. Minimal risk in the host as it is with the turn. He clears the mid-wicket fence with ease. Runs flowing now.
  • 10.1 Edgy runs! Malan takes a few steps ahead and Santner fires it outside off. Malan looks to go downtown but gets an outside edge towards third man for two.
  • Mitchell Santner is back on! 2-0-5-2 are his figures so far.
  • 9.6 FOUR! Excellent shot. Full delivery outside off, Morgan drives it beautifully through covers for a boundary. 15 runs have come from the over. 88/2
  • 9.5 SIX! Amazing shot. Length delivery on middle, Morgan lofts it over long on for a maximum.
  • 9.4 Length delivery on middle, Morgan tucks it to mid-wicket.
  • 9.3 Full delivery on off, Malan drives it through covers for a run.
  • 9.2 FOUR! Up and over! Strong shot. A cross-seam delivery. It is on a length and outside off. Malan heaves it over the mid on fielder and bags a boundary.
  • 9.1 NOT OUT! Length delivery on middle, Malan looks to flick but gets hit on the pads. The bowler appeals for lbw but the umpire shakes his head. New Zealand take the review. There is nothing on the Ultra Edge. Hawk Eye shows that it was pitching outside leg. New Zealand lose their review.
  • An appeal for lbw has been turned down. The New Zealand players appeal and go for a review. Dawid Malan is the man in question.
  • Blair Tickner is back on. 1-0-17-0 are his figures so far.
  • 8.6 DROPPED? Or he actually just threw it back as he realized he was going to touch the ropes? By looking at the replays, it seems like it was the latter. Morgan will breathe a sigh of relief. This is tossed up on the leg pole. Morgan once again plays the sweep. He hits it firmly but flat towards deep square leg. Mitchell there runs to his right, slides and takes it but then realizes the momentum is taking him over the ropes and he ends up getting rid of it before he does so. You can probably say he saves 4 runs in the end. 12 from the over, an expensive one. 73/2
  • 8.5 One more short ball but this is quicker! It is pulled through mid-wicket for one.
  • 8.4 Outside off, this is slapped through covers for one. Good batting, need not take any risk with 8 already hit in the over.
  • 8.3 A couple now! The sweep shot is out, it is hit nicely behind square on the leg side for two.
  • 8.2 SIX! All the way! This time Sodhi does not get away with it. One more short ball on middle, Morgan watches the ball closely. Goes back and pulls it way back into the mid-wicket stand.
  • 8.1 Slower but shorter on middle, Morgan looks to pull but the ball stays a touch low. He gets an inside edge onto the pads.
  • 7.6 A single to end another successful over for Santner. Shorter and outside off, this is slapped through covers for one. 61/2
  • 7.5 Fires this one just inside the tramline. Morgan lets it be.
  • 7.4 On middle, Malan works it with the turn through mid-wicket for one.
  • 7.3 Morgan is off the mark! Flatter and on off, this is played towards cover for one.
  • Eoin Morgan is the next batsman in.
  • 7.2 OUT! It is not very close, it is three reds and Banton has to take the long walk back. His entertaining knock comes to an end. Excellent review from New Zealand and timely wicket for them as the two started to score runs quite easily now. Santner once again proves to be the man for the Kiwis. His second wicket. Banton looks to play the reverse sweep to the ball which is pitched around off. He misses and is hit above the pads. An appeal but not given. The hosts review. Time for the replays and it shows that New Zealand have broken the 42-run stand.
  • New Zealand review now as an appeal for an LBW has been turned down. The impact seems outside off. Actually, looking at the first replay, it seems close.
  • 7.1 How has that missed the off pole? Santner slows it up outside off, Malan looks to play the slog sweep but is beaten by the slowness on the delivery. It just about kisses the off pole. The keeper too fails to collect it cleanly and a bye is taken.
  • Mitchell Santner is back on! He took a wicket in his first over and England would love one more here.
  • 6.6 Tossed up delivery on middle, Malan nudges it towards square leg for a single. 57/1
  • 6.5 FOUR! Nice shot. Flighted delivery on middle, Malan plays a reverse sweep through point for a boundary.
  • 6.4 Loopy delivery on middle, Banton plays a sweep through square leg for a run.
  • 6.3 Floated delivery on off, Malan defends it towards the off side for a single.
  • 6.2 Tossed up delivery on off, Banton slaps it through covers. The batsmen cross ends.
  • 6.1 Flighted delivery on leg, Malan flicks it towards square leg for a single.
  • Ish Sodhi to bowl.
  • 5.6 A couple now! We saw power on the last ball and now finesse! This is outside off, Banton waits for the ball to come to him, he opens the face of the bat and guides it through point for two. 17 from this over and 30 from the last two. Two huge overs to end the over! England will surely be the happier side after it as they are 48 for 1 after 6. 48/1
  • 5.5 SIX! Banton has no problems with the short balls too. Tickner bangs this one short, changes the length to surprise the batter. Banton is up for it, he rocks back and sends it sailing over the mid-wicket fence with a pull shot. This is turning out to be a huge over with a ball to go.
  • 5.4 FOUR! Excellent pick-up shot! One thing is for sure, this guy loves deliveries on his pads. This is there once again, he whips it over backward square leg and a boundary results. This is turning out to be another good over for England.
  • 5.3 Well fielded! Length again but this time on off, Banton hits it hard back towards the bowler who sticks on hand out to his left and stops it.
  • 5.2 FOUR! Easy-peasy! Runs starting to come now. This is on the pads, Banton tickles it away nice and fine on the leg side and it races away to the fence.
  • 5.1 Slower one outside off, Malan looks to hit it on the up but it goes off the inner half towards mid off for one.
  • Blair Tickner is into the attack.
  • 4.6 Close shave! A single to end a 13-run over. This is on middle Malan works it towards mid-wicket and takes off. The fielder picks the ball up and has a shy at the non-striker's end but misses. 31/1
  • Colin de Grandhomme is mic'd up. Says that one needs to enjoy life. On his possible calf niggle, de Grandhomme says that the physio gave him a thumbs up and that is what matters. Looks at the pitch and feels plenty of runs are in offer. Hopes to win tonight and seal the series. On his skills, he says that he just backs himself and hopes for the best. On his latest promotion to number 4 with the bat, Colin says that it a great opportunity, but also says that you would want to openers to lay down a good platform. Hopes that he does not get to bat tonight.
  • 4.5 FOUR! Second boundary in the over! This is a gift! A full toss outside off, Malan reaches out for it and hits it through covers. No one in the deep this time and a boundary. This is turning out to be a good over for England, a much-needed one.
  • 4.4 Couple more! A full toss down the leg side, Malan gets bat on ball and works it behind square on the leg side. Easy two.
  • 4.3 Good batting! Follows the boundary with a single as this is worked through mid-wicket.
  • 4.2 FOUR! Well, this one is a half volley. It is outside off. Banton waits for it and then caresses it through covers. No one is going to stop that. Welcome boundary for England.
  • 4.1 Outside off, Malan creams it through covers. There is a fielder in the deep so just a run. Good bowling, he actually bowled that delivery according to his field.
  • Tim Southee has a change of ends.
  • 3.6 Just the single to end! A wicket and two runs from Santner's first. This is on the pads, it is flicked through square leg for one. 18/1
  • 3.5 One more dot! On middle, Malan works it to mid-wicket.
  • 3.4 The batsman works it down the leg side. Another dot! Top class over so far.
  • 3.4 WIDE! Fires this down the leg side, Malan lets it be.
  • 3.3 Flatter and on middle, this is worked to the man at mid-wicket.
  • 3.2 Well bowled! The arm ball, it drifts away from the batter. Malan looks to defend but it goes off the outside edge towards point.
  • Dawid Malan is the new batsman in.
  • 3.1 OUT! In the air... taken! Oh no Jonny, what have you done there? That is a nothing delivery, you could have hit it anywhere but you end up hitting it straight to the fielder at deep mid-wicket. Bairstow himself can't believe it as he looks down in disappointment. New Zealand won't care though as they have drawn first blood. The bowling change works wonders. It is a short delivery. A loosener, Bairstow goes back and looks to pull but gets it on the higher part of the bat. It goes towards Mitchell who takes it easily. JB's comeback into the team is a short one.
  • Mitchell Santner is into the attack.
  • 2.6 NOT OUT! It is pitching outside leg! That did seem to be the issue when we saw the ball at first. Banton should be thanking Bairstow as Banton was already making his way back to the pavilion. Excellent from JB. Banton survives to fight another day. This is slightly shorter, it stays a bit low. Banton looks to pull it but misses to get hit on the pads. A huge shout and up goes the finger. After being told by Bairstow, Banton reviews. Replays show that it has pitched outside leg. A good over though from Boult. 16/0
  • Review time! Banton has been given out LBW. He has started walking back but Bairstow stops him and asks him to signal the 'T'. The pitching could be an issue here.
  • This is the same venue where play was halted due to sharp sunlight between New Zealand and India in January 2019. Simon Doull predicts the same thing to happen in around 30-40 minutes time. Ouch.
  • 2.5 Leading edge but safe! Another fuller ball outside off, Bairstow looks to whip it on the leg side against the angle. A leading edge is induced. It luckily lands safe behind point and a single is taken.
  • 2.4 FOUR! Something had to give, out comes the big shot and Bairstow gets the desired result. It is fuller and on middle, Jonny clears his front leg and lofts it over mid on and bags a boundary. Releases the pressure that was building.
  • 2.3 Well fielded! Bairstow uses his feet this time, he cracks it towards wide mid off. It is hit firmly, Southee there makes a good stop. Three dots in a row, something has to give now.
  • 2.2 Shorter in length again and around off, sticks in the surface just a little. Bairstow mistimes his pull shot towards mid-wicket.
  • 2.1 A slower short ball on off, Bairstow pulls it but can't get it past mid-wicket.
  • 1.6 A single to end! A yorker on the last ball. JB jams it out on the off side for a quick run. 11/0
  • 1.5 NOT OUT! Bairstow has got his bat in, in time. The dive has saved him there. Good work from Southee though. This is angled into the pads. JB looks to flick but misses to get hit high on the pads. The bowler makes a muted appeal. Banton in the meantime, sets off for a run. Bairstow also takes a start but Banton sends him back seeing Southee run towards the ball. Bairstow now turns, Southee gets to the ball and underarms it towards the stumps. Jonny dives to get in. An appeal as it is a direct hit. The umpire takes it upstairs. Replays show that Bairstow can continue to bat.
  • Confusion! The stumps are hit by the bowler. Is this a run out? Bairstow is the man in question. New Zealand do not seem excited.
  • 1.4 Bairstow is off the mark straightaway. This is on the pads, Jonny works it behind square on the leg side and takes two.
  • 1.3 A single now! Fuller and on off, Banton strokes it towards mid off and takes one quickly. Bairstow will be facing his first ball now.
  • 1.2 One more delivery on a length and around middle, Banton defends it onto the ground.
  • 1.1 A couple! Easy pickings for Banton. Full and on the pads, he works it through mid-wicket. The man in the deep gets across and keeps it down to two.
  • Tim Southee to bowl from the other end.
  • 0.6 A single to end! So a good comeback after going for a boundary on the first ball. The last ball too is a slower one, it is worked through mid-wicket for one. 5/0
  • 0.5 Good change in pace! Takes the pace off the delivery and lands it slightly short. Banton swings across the line but misses as he is a touch early in the shot.
  • 0.4 Goes for the inswinging yorker this time but it is on the pads. Banton works it to the man at mid-wicket. So three dots after going for a boundary first up.
  • 0.3 On the fuller side again, this one too comes back in. Banton strokes it to mid on.
  • 0.2 Gets it right this time, it starts from around off and shapes back in. Banton looks to play it with a straight bat but it goes off the inner half towards mid-wicket.
  • 0.1 FOUR! Banton is off the mark in style! Ideal start for England. However, encouraging signs for Boult too as he got that to move a long way. He starts it wrong though, on middle, it shapes back into the pads. Tom tickles it fine down the leg side and bags a boundary.
  • We are all set to begin. The New Zealand players are out in the middle. Jonny Bairstow and Tom Banton will open the batting for England. Trent Boult will start the proceedings for New Zealand.
  • So as mentioned in the earlier text, Chris Jordan and Jonny Bairstow do come in for England. Trent Boult also will be playing his first game of the series in place of Ferguson. However, the Kiwis have made another change - Daryl Mitchell comes in place of Neesham.
  • England (Playing XI) - Tom Banton, JONNY BAIRSTOW (IN FOR JAMES VINCE), Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan (C), Sam Billings (WK), Sam Curran, Lewis Gregory, Tom Curran, CHRIS JORDAN (IN FOR SAQIB MAHMOOD), Pat Brown, Matt Parkinson.
  • New Zealand (Playing XI) - Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Tim Seifert (WK), Colin de Grandhomme, Ross Taylor, DARYL MITCHELL (IN FOR JAMES NEESHAM), Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee (C), Ish Sodhi, TRENT BOULT (IN FOR LOCKIE FERGUSON), Blair Tickner.
  • TOSS - Up goes the coin and it lands in the favor of the hosts. NEW ZEALAND ELECT TO BOWL FIRST!
  • Let's us now talk about the teams - The hosts will be making one change for sure, Lockie Ferguson who was only in the squad for the first three T20Is, will be replaced by Trent Boult. The rest of the team should be the same as they would not want to tinker with the winning combination. England on the other hand, might just get in Jonny Bairstow and Chris Jordan with this being a crunch game. We will confirm once the toss and teams are updated in a bit.
  • Time for the 4th game of this long T20I series between New Zealand and England. A lot is at stake in this game. The visitors need a win to stay alive in the series. The hosts on the other hand, need a win to seal it. This is the only game in this series which begins in the evening and England will hope a change in time brings in a change of fortunes for them. The series has been pretty exciting so far, let's hope for one more cracker of a game. Welcome to the coverage.

  • England skipper, Eoin Morgan, says he is absolutely thrilled, it was a clinical performance in a must-win game. States they were very good with the ball and the bat. Credits Malan and Parkinson for the way they played. He is also delighted with the way he played and they managed to make most of the surface. Ends by saying they need to get better as the series goes on and he is looking forward for the last game.
  • New Zealand skipper, Tim Southee, says they need to get over this defeat and look forward to the game coming up. Further adds they got off to a nice start but then they started to lose wickets and that made it difficult. He jokingly says, if weather does play a part in the 5th T20I, it should not come down to boundaries.
  • MAN OF THE MATCH, Dawid Malan, says it is a special moment. The intent Morgan and himself showed from ball 1 was exceptional and it is good they performed well in a crunch game. States they have made silly mistakes throughout but are pleased they played well in this game and is hoping to win the next game too and win the series.
  • The England bowling was led by the young leggie, Parkinson. He was the pick with a four-fer. Jordan also took a couple. The rest of the bowlers also had a wicket each. A complete performance you can say from the away side. Stay tuned for the presentation.
  • 242 then was always going to be a huge target but New Zealand did start off decently. However, once the first wicket fell, they kept losing wickets and in the end it was too much of a task. When chasing such a huge total, you need one of the top order batters to score big but that was not the case, their top scorer was Tim Southee. All in all, it has been a day to forget for the hosts.
  • A comprehensive win in the end for the visitors! They needed a good performance to level the series and they have delivered in this must-win game. To be honest this game was set up by their skipper Morgan and the centurion, Malan. The 182-run stand between them batted New Zealand out of the game.

Well, if you look at the target, they have to on every ball. Munro looks to do exactly that. He brings out the slog sweep but Parkinson bowls it nicely and slow outside off. He does not get enough power behind the shot and it goes straight to Brown at deep mid-wicket. Two wickets in two balls for Parkinson. Excellent first over from him.
