That is all we have for you from this game. India next meet Ireland on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Providence Stadium, Guyana at 11 am local (1500 GMT). Join us then. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Victorious Indian captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, says that they bowled well in patches but is not happy about the fielding. Adds that it is important for them to do well in both Powerplays. On Mithali Raj, she says that they need to use her in smarter ways. Ends by saying that they still have a lot of work to do in the tournament.
Pakistan skipper, Javeria Khan, says that they are working hard and backs the girls. Adds that they were told to play fearless cricket and is happy that there was a big partnership. On being asked about the penalty, she accepted it sportingly and says that the umpires had warned them thrice before giving out the penalty. Reckons that they didn't do well in both Powerplay and didn't execute their plans well. Ends saying that she is happy with the girls and hopes many more youngsters step up and play sports in Pakistan.
MITHALI RAJ HAS BEEN NAMED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. On being asked if she likes to bat up the order or in the middle she responds by saying that it does matter where she bats as long as she gets to bat because she likes batting. Adds that she loves wearing the Indian kit and representing the country. On being asked whether she prefers chasing or batting first, she reckons that chasing puts a little pressure on her but she enjoys challenges. Is confident that India will qualify for the semis but the challenges will only get tougher and they will have to play their A game.
Pakistan tried hard but their fielders let them down again. Sana Mir, Nida Dar and Diana Baig kept things quiet but the wickets came very late. Pakistan now need other results to go their way if they are to qualify for the semis, with only two games left. Please stay tuned for the presentation...
Chasing 134 on a tricky pitch, India got it slightly easier, having been awarded 10 runs without a ball being bowled. The openers then added 73 which literally took the wind out of Pakistan's sails. Mandhana got out but Mithali ensured that she batted almost till the end. Her classy 56 built the base of the run chase.
Easy win for India. The fact that they dropped 5 catches and yet managed to keep Pakistan to 133 shows how strong a team they are. They have now moved up to the top of the table, with 4 points from 2 games. They have Ireland and Australia left in their group.
